I have a urine test for a new job in 2 days. I have not smoked in over 30 days but was a daily smoker (multiple sessions per day) and will still be using QCarbo (with Eliminex) prior to testing. Should I be concerned about the lab testing revealing high levels of Creatine in my urine??? Thanks.

I was pretty much in the same boat as you one week ago. I had been a daily smoker, then quit smoking as soon as I found out that I needed to take a drug test (about 35 days before I took the actual test). I took QCarbo for "good measure", even though it had been a while. I took the test on a Friday, and smoked a small amount on Sunday night (bad decision, I know). On Monday morning I received a call that my results had came back "Negative Dilute" and that I would need to re-test! Aye! Aye! So I took the test on Friday with NO detox, (I tested at home, and it said negative, so I'm crossing my fingers...) Well, anyway, if I could go back and do it all over again, I would have just taken my chances and not detoxed at all! If you do decide to go with the QCarbo, atleast wait to confirm negative results before "imbibing toxins"--I'm totally kicking myself--and going crazy waiting for a call.

No because there are no upper limits established for creatinine. Labs check the creatinine level to see if a sample is too-diluted, or if a substituted specimen had been used (ie animal urine, water with or without yellow food coloring, heated Mello Yello, etc). In doing so, the labs look for low levels in order to make a determination.

Samples with a creatinine level over 20 mg/dl are satisfactory. Creatinine levels between 2 -20 mg are considered too-dilute. A level of 0-2 mg indicates a substituted specimen (aka "not consistent with human urine")
