To use my own recent experience as a guide, I "squeaked by" (I am still positive for THC) but I passed my drug test. That being said, the phrase is entirely personal and has NOTHING to do with the test results.

You either are or you aren't. Make appropriate judgements from there. If there is a line, you are negative. If there isn't a line, you are positive.

My non-using family member took a test right alongside me and hers was faint, too. So if you have never smoked before you will also see a faint line - in this particular testing instance, with the particular test strips I have. I can't say what it would be for any of the other drugs that are tested as it's not relevant to this site.

So everyone, repeat after me....FAINT COUNTS AS NEGATIVE

If you are going to be around for a while get used to saying that. I started saying "if you can see the line, it is there. If you can't see it, it isn't there."
