Hello All,
First I'd like to thank you all for reading this and to Cheaptalk.com for providing this forum. It was great help in researching for my test.

I'm 26, 6'3, 235 or so, with a normal metabolism. I've been clean for 23 days, and prior to that I smoked about a hitter a day, or so. Maybe two. I don't work out other than walking around.

I had to take a seven-panel test today, and I had gotten test strips because I knew this was coming. After 18 days I came up negative, but the line was really faint. After today (23 days) I came up negative again, with a much stronger line. I drank a little less than 2 quarts of country time lemonade about 3 hours prior to the test and took 2 asprin and 4 rolaids. I took a creatine powdered drink mix last night.

My urine was faint but definitely yellow, foamy and all that. I was peeing a lot before the test. I felt pretty confident that I would test negative, assuming the test was about $40 and that they were going to use a dipstick screen with GC/MS confirmation. The test was observed (and that was tons of fun.)

When I took my sample to the techs they commented, "Hey, you drank lots of water, didn't you?" and "this looks really diluted." It wasn't clear at all but it certainly wasn't first-of-the-day yellow. I guess I should've taken a b-complex, but I guess I figured that my test would be negative probably so I thought I'd be fine.

Of course, I have to wait for the test to get sent out and analyzed at the lab, which is 7-10 days. I would've felt pretty good about the test, but the techs freaked me out.

Does anyone have an opinion on how dilute my sample will be after the amount of water I drank and the timing of the test? Will my rolaid/creatine taking help me? I really don't want to be dilute, because the people testing me are going to consider that a positive (they warned me). Does the urine have to pretty much be clear to be considered too dilute, or is the color going to mark me diluted?

Don't be freaked out. We can tell when people have drank lots of water or gatorade or whatever just before the test. We can also tell when people don't drink extra fluid before a drug test. Just because you drank lemonade before the test, and because the tech commented on it has no bearing on whether your specimen passed the validity testing.

You admit that you drank before your test, why are you surprised that the tech picked up on that? We aren't stupid. We do this all day long and can tell. If your numbers fall within range, you pass. If not, you fail. No amount of commentary will change that. Ignore what was said. The tech can suspect whatever they want, but suspicion and coloring don't make a test fail.

From what you said, I would give you an 80% - 85% chance of passing.

I don't know why they told you it takes 7 - 10 days to get results. If it was sent to a lab, they would have negative results on Monday; Tuesday at the latest.

I appreciate the reassurance. I know from reading your old posts that you're a tech, so having a pro tell me I've got a good shot is great. When you say 80-85%, are you saying 80-85% negative, or 10-15% positive? Or am I correct in thinking that the most likely outcomes are dilute or negative, due to my self-testing at the 50ng/ml level?

I know the testers aren't dopes, but they sent me to a detox center for the test. All the other companies in town offer a 48 hour turnaround, but for some reason, this one is 7-10 days (they say). I can only guess that they'll send it out tomorrow (as they told me) and that it takes that long for the sample to get to the test site and for them to mail back results. As a sample collector, are all urine tests shipped overnight? Or do collection locations get multiple results in batches? I was a little confused by the long lag as well.

I don't really know what kind of people were behind the desk, whether they were some sort of licensed techs or just employees of the center. I also realize that their opinion on the color has no real bearing on the test results, it just shook me up to have them compare my sample to the (probably) hundreds or thousands they've seen.

Do you think the rolaids and creatine helped me out, or was that more just for my psychological benefit?

Again, thanks for the note of reassurance. I'll post my results when they eventually come through.

Came back dilute. About 16-17 mg/dL.

I am assuming you were negative dilute instead of positive dilute. Was this for employment? You said it was observed, does that mean it was for probation or a return-to-duty? Do you have the opportunity for a re-test?

It was a negative dilute. I was taking this as a condition for higher education (long story). I retested today and they used a 5 panel Rapid test, but it wasn't a dipstick. It was a flat plastic panel with a window running along the right side with the drug indicators and two openings at the bottom where I assume he dripped the urine. The test indicators for cocaine, amphetamines, PCP, and opiates appeared right away, but the THC one was blank for a while. I started to panic and he started talking about sending it away for analysis. I walked away for a bit and when I came back, he was tossing the test and sample and told me I passed. The line must've shown up, but is that unusual that the THC tester would take so much longer than the rest? I've been clean for 30 days.

Sometimes one panel or another will take much longer. It is just how that particular test absorbs the urine and how it reacts to your urine. Sometimes it is one of the adulterant indicators that takes forever, sometimes it is one of the test indicators. If you were negative, don't dwell on the details. Congrats on getting into your education program.
