sec3, since u are a collector i thought u might be able to help with my question. when i went in for my pre-emp physical the nurse asked if i drink a lot of water, i told her since starting "labor" work a year ago i got into the habbit of drinking lots of water all day long and taking a multi-vitamin,she didnt seem to act negativly to my comment and the rest of the physical went smoothly, i recvd a call about 2-3hrs later from my would be new boss congradulating me and confirming my start date. this was on wednesday, i havnt heard anytnig since positive or negative. do you think they would have the results that quick to have called my employer and tell him i passed?

smoked less than an eighth in a month time period, be4 that off for 2months, heaver smoker be4 that for 6+ years, moderate to high metabolism since starting "labor" tipe work, abstained from smoking for about 100hrs (thought i was taking blood test only) found out 1hr be4 p-test, drank 2.5ltrs of propell fitness water in 20min, peed 3times be4 test.

smoked a couple bowls on x-mass, passed a home test and work p-test on January 10th, no dilution

OK, you backed me into a wall. I don't know how much an eighth is. I have no idea if it is a lot or a little. I have no idea how much will fit into a bowl or an average size joint. I know the size of an average bowl or joint. Other than that, I am clueless.

When I used to smoke occasionally (years ago), my husband always had it. I never had to purchase it or had reason to measure it.

Now for your question: If the urine test was done using an instant cup with an adulterant panel, that would explain the tester's question about your water intake and also explain how the employer would have results so quickly. Your specific gravity might have been right on the line of pass/fail and your answer to her was perfect. IF your urine was diluted enough, the instant test would not detect the THC in your urine and you would have been given a "pass". If the instant test indicated a "non-negative", the specimen would probably have been sent in for confirmation testing and your employer wouldn't have had the results for another couple of days at least.

i dont think it was an instant test but i wasnt really looking, she signed it, sealed it in a bio-haz bag and put it in the fridge. i'm looking at the paper and it says its going to a toxicology laboratory. keeping my fingers crossed but im expecting to fail...

We use laboratory CCF's to document instant tests. Doesn't mean the specimen actually went to the lab. If they did the instant test, and it passed, then they just document that it passed on the CCF and forward that to the employer. If it doesn't pass the instant (non-negative) then the paperwork is already filled to forward the specimen to the lab.
