just a quick note to tell all what happened today. I was at my job that i had to pre-test for. basically i was working in a big vessel about 50 foot diameter and 175 feet high. we were inside scaffolding to the top so another trade could do some work in it. I was working with a partner at about the 40 foot level and he looks at me and asks if i can smell some marijuana. Of course I said no. a few minutes later, the smell was really strong. he asked me again, but this time i had no choice but to say yes. next thing he went to the foreman. by coffee break, the whole crew was called into the office. there were 12 of us. management did a big investigation in to it. everyone had to write statements and all the bs that goes with it. luckily , management found there was no cause for testing us, as noonewas actually caught and it was just one persons word against anothers. the real reason is more like the responsible person is a friend of the forman. this was freakin close. after talking to all the other people, the only one who would have passed the test was the rat. luckily, for his health, they transferred him to night shift, away from all of us.
the reason i am penning this thread is to wake some people up. Come people, hopefully most of you wouldnt do this, but the guy who lit this joint put 11 peoples livelyhoods on the line. there are many jobs in my area and in my profession, but dont you think word could get around to some of these other companys.
after going through the trouble of subbing or whatever to pass a test, cant you wait till your shift is over for a freakin hoot. your foolishness almost cost me my 100,000 a year job that is only 15 minutes away from home.
this gives marijuana smokers a bad name in my mind, and ive been into the herb for over 35 years.

Very good post. Smoking on the job isn't responsible, adult use of marijuana and you are right about it getting others fired that don't smoke on the job.
