Default T-mobile Job

Hey guys. I have a two part question, but first i will tell you the scenario. I went to the mall today just looking for jobs and went into the T-mobile store because they had a sign out that said they were hiring. So i go in and say i saw the sign and would like to fill out an application. Then the manager (i think) just told me to follow him to the back where we had a little mini-interview (10 minutes maybe) and he filled out the application while we were doing it and everything, but he was only the head guy of that store. So he set up an interview with the head honcho guy for tomorrow at one. Question #1 Does anyone here know if t-mobile stores in Littleton,co do drug tests? And #2 I have an interview tomorrow, should i be worried about a drug test this soon or only when they are actually ready to hire me, because i need to know if i should get synthetic urine tomorrow morning or wait till the next day i am scheduled to arive. I am very tight on money and dont want to spend it till i have to. I dont that they would do the test this soon but since we already had alittle mini interview i am confused as to what tomorrow is. He told me to wear a tie and slacks and everything but said it was just an interview. He also said the they dont care about education or past experiance or anything like that, and that it is just based on performance. Im confuzled. Thank you guys very much in advance.

This should probably be in the drug testing forum.

But anyway, no way in hell you're getting tested at an interview like that. The way it works is, if they test, they'll schedule one only after they've given you an offer, which gives you at least a week or two. I don't know if that particular job tests, but my guess is no, as few employers in the customer service industry can afford to disqualify such a large portion of the workforce

I feel just the opposite of WNB. I think you should be prepared for a drug test at any moment. What if they give you the job offer after the interview and send you out to drug test? Expect the worst and hope for the best and you will be ready for anything.

I agree with Boobs disagreeing with WNB. The company that I work for has you come in for the start of the interview process and has a collector there to snip your hair for a drug test. That weeds out a lot of prospective employees immediately and still some that submit to the test don't make it. It is surprising how many refuse to sign the consent form and leave and the ad in the classifieds clearly states you will have to submit to drug screening.

Sec3 has mentioned several times that anyone looking for a job should stop smoking.

I agree with 1toke agreeing with boobs who disagrees with WNB...

When i went in for my second interview he had me take a saliva test right there while he interviewed me and then checked the results after we were done talking. Luckily i was ready for it because my brother knew all about it =P

I have employers who will call me in the morning and say, "I have several interviews today, if they go well, can we send people over?" That means that they send people over directly after the interview. They interview, then they ask the applicant to wait in the lounge for a few minutes while the managers decide if they want to hire them. Then one of the Managers will come out and say to the applicant,: "go to XYZ Address, for your drug test, then I will call you later with a start date". The manager then calls me to let me know the applicant has left there, and if the applicant doesn't show up at my facility within about 10-15 minutes, I call the Manager to let him know the applicant is late.

When the applicant shows up, I give an instant test. If the applicant passes, I then call the Manager with the results. If the screen indicates a non-negative, I will also call the Manager with the news that I have forwarded the specimen for confirmation testing at a lab. When I get the MRO result, I then call the Manager and give the results of the lab test and MRO review.

Could be later, could be on the spot. There is no way to know for sure ahead of time.

well MOST companies don't do hair tests...they're too expensive. you need to get that synthetic urine cuase about 90% of jobs these days test.

MORE companies are going to hair tests all the time. They aren't that expensive for large companies because they are a repeat customer. If you buy one they are expensive if you buy a thousand the price goes down.
Same principle of buying one piss test at Wally World or 15 on Ebay. Usually anything you buy in volume is less expensive than buying just one.

Don't worry T-Mobile doesn't do a drug test. I've been a manager at T-Mobile for 5 years. All they do is thorough research of your background and driving record.

If you have bad driving record you might not get the job.
