Here is my story. I am 5'10". 150 lbs, with pretty fast metabolism. I was clean for 9 days before taking a pre-employment drug screening that was sent out to a lab. This is what I did beforehand: I took 5 days worth of GNC's detox pills, drank a ton of water during those 9 days. I took 2 at home drug tests, and passed with a faint line. I then went to a clinic and paid $25.00 to get a more accurate test done. I also passed with an extremely faint line. I had to take the real thing on Wednesday. My sample was sent out to a lab, and I still haven't heard anything. I called human resources yesterday(Friday) to make sure everything was finalized with background check, driving check, and drug test. She was able to look on-line to see if I passed my drug screen, and she said, "Oh that's strange, it says, "waiting for paperwork" She told me she was going to call the lab to find out what was going on. That was at 2pm, and I never heard back from her by the end of the business day. I am a little nervous, and I am trying to interpret what "waiting for paperwork means." Does anyone know if lab tests are more accurate than clinic test? Any help with this would be greatly appreiciated.

It's never a good idea to call a company to inquire about drug test results. Obviously one would never inquire about the results unless there might be an issue.

I understand it is never a good idea to call, but I was suppossed to put in my two weeks notice like a week ago, so I needed confirmation on results.

Some people are so ignorant. It takes 3 seconds to relate results, and they damned well know test subjects want their results, and they probably have them before you even walk out the door. Just as a word of encouragement, though, looks to me as though you're gonna be OK.

Well, it is now Tuesday, and I have not heard anything yet from the lab or the HR dept. I am hoping no news is good news at this point. Do you think I am in the clear? I took my test last Wednesday the 21st.

Dude, what do you think. Obviously a tester saw the faint line and sent it out for GC/MS. They aren't supposed to, a faint line is a pass. But if your HR found out about it and the exact amount of drug in you, and even if it is below cutoff, they may chose to recant the offer. I am definatly sorry to say that it is bad news. You should have known by now. Check your mail box today. And, quit contrary to most beliefs, inquiring as to the results of a physical and drug test is no indicator at all of a potential problem. Most employers are happy to answer, they want you to work ASAP. They know its a monkey on your back until its all good. I use to ask my PO if I passed. The first time I went as far as asking how it measured shit, what it tested for and my results on my first test. He gladly obliged. One quick look and he could distingush between worry and curiosity. He was a good PO, and was promoted half way through my probation to run the entire dept. It is your right to know. Especially if it comes up positive. You want an investigation started immediately, try and see if it is the test that gets false positives from ibuprofin. Anyway, call them today and ask. If you get an operator and she takes your name, and comes back and send you to voice mail...id say look for another job and freaking quit. A lot of times HR wont talk directly, rather they will mail you a polite "you suck, you failed" card. I had applied to a place as a clothing packer 4 years in a row. The first year they put me through 90% of the hiring process. All the sudden I got a card in the mail and said not hired. I called and she said that there weren't enough jobs to go around. I found out from one of the people I used as a reference that he got snappy over the phone. I had a seasonal job and the lady asked like 5 times in a row why I left, which I never left, just laid off. So every year I applied for that remedial job, and got denied after that. I even called and called and called and could never get a hold of anyone from human resources. I left messages demanding an explanation. Nada, honestly I think I have a lawsuit if I wanted, but why bother over a 9 hr job. I work elsewhere now anyway. Its a bit off track, but its how HR behaves when your are not gonna get hired.

So, I found out today that my results came back negative diluted. I had to go and take another test today at the clinic. This test is also being sent out to a lab. I decided to use Quick Fix 4.0. I want to know if there is any way that they can compare samples and realize it is not the same urine?

| Yo, go check my post. You must not have finished reading it. Ill sum it up. Water it down again, but this time demand to be monitored from source to destination, that way there is no "diluting agent" accusation. They think your poring water in the cup dude, not that you drank a lot of water. If the nurses say it dosen't make a difference ask for the hospital manager. Politely inform him that your being mistreated. Tell him a healthy person will drink upwards of 8 full glasses of water a day and that is not illegal. I can't stress it enough, if you are monitored, they cannot play the diluted game. Quote:

Hey first off. They never sent my test out for a GC/MS. That was the test I took myself at a different place...When I took the real test(pre employement) the next day, there was no way for them to think that it was diluted b/c I poured water in it. The toilet water way blue and the sink had tape over it. Anyways, I had to take another test today and used quick fix. I just don't want them to find out by comparing samples.

Maybe I am confusing everyone. The test I took at the clinic is not tested at the site. They send it out to the lab to get tested. Sorry about the confusion.
