Just registered here, very paranoid. I've been working a temp job for 8 months now, and got my job offer today - first nice cushy job ever - contingent on a drug test and background check of course.

Heavy schwag smoker for ten years; 5'3 female, 145 lbs, low metabolism. Clean for 13 days, except a freak-out one-hitter 5 days ago and some second hand smoke I tried to avoid yesterday. I've been drinking tons of water, exercising 15 minutes every morning, niacin and goldenseal even though NORML says its a myth, and cranberry juice. But I picked up a home test today and popped positive!!!!

I've never had to take a UA before, and my only exposure to all this terminology and stuff is from this site and NORML, so I'm freaked I'm missing something.

I'm taking a 5 panel at LabCorp on Monday. My paperwork also says "eth/bld" - what does this mean? I should be clear for a blood test, but what is "eth"? Why would I come up positive today unless it's just residue from years of toking? I read encouraging results from people here, but I'm still concerned. Any tips on LabCorp - will they be 50 ng for sure? Any feedback besides dilution?

Go out TODAY and get a home test. Test yourself without drinking any fluid from now until you get back home. If you can pass the home test, you should be able to pass the employment test.

I think the eth/bld is a blood alcohol level. I don't know if they are giving you a breath alcohol test or a blood alcohol test, either way, you should pass that one with no worries (unless you have a drink before you go).

If you don't pass the home test, read up on substitution or dilution. You have some work to do bofore you are in the clear. The reason they can give you a breath test is because you have been given a conditional offer of employment. Basically, the job is yours as long as you don't mess up.

Stop using the niacin and goldenseal. They don't do anything. also drinking excessive water days before a test does nothing but give you kidneys a workout. It does nothing to lower your THC levels.

Go test yourself, and see where you are. Then you will know what you have to do.

My bio above ... I took a home test yesterday and today. Both had the top line VERY red, andthe second line visible, but faint. What does this mean, does it still count as negative? I assume LabCorp will do more than a dipstick analysis, what's your read?

You're going to be very close to being positive. Too close to call, and too close for my blood. I would try dilution, and see if your line gets darker. Or think about subbing, using clean urine or quick fix. 4.0.

also when you give the sample (if you are not subbing) take it from the midstream of your piss (that is piss half of your piss in the toilet before you take the sample)

You are NOT too close, or even somewhat close to receiving a positive. I give instant tests all the time. One batch of tests the marijuana line is ALWAYS faint relative to the opium line. It is just the tests. If you are receiving a line, you are good to test. Just don't overdo the drinking fluids and receive a dilute result. Then you may have to re-test, or the employer might just pass you over for the next candidate.

Thanks for the reassurances! I have been taking these home tests with diluted urine, cranberry juice, B complex sublingual and aspirin, not first in the morning, mid-stream. I plan to do the same tomorrow; I *know* I have the job unless I screw this up. If I do, I'm REALLY screwed!

I think I mis-counted my days clean too (damn that short term memory loss!) - I'm at 13 days tomorrow, except a pinch 9 days ago (time has really been CRAWLING by sober!) I did cut down a bunch for a week before that though. I'd MUCH rather get a dilute and hold out a few more days than pop positive and have no recourse. Last week, the other temp they just hired was sent back to pee again because they said he drank too much coffee? So I plan to do that too ; ) Never heard about that before though...

Dinner tonight was steak, the highest fat content fries I could find, asparagus, coke-a-cola and a few brownies. I was going to eat roasted beets and garlic and hope that messed with my urine, but I couldn't find any beets after three stores - WTF?!

Tomorrow I plan to drink water, aspirin, tons of B complex sublingual, multi-vitamins, and I've got some Powerade as well for right before. I also have some leftover steak and asparagus I was planning to eat for breakfast if you think it'd do any good! What's the purpose of rolaids or TUMS (does it matter which)?

I know y'all are full of good vibes - so send some out my way tomorrow 1-3pm central time tomorrow! When I get my results in a couple days, I'll post the stuff I did on the results thread. Thanks for all y'all do!!!!!
