I have to take a piss test this week, pre employment. I am 240lbs 5'10". I have no idea about my metabolism. I am a moderate exerciser, but have not done any for about 6 days. I have been drinking cran-juice. I have smoked everyday for years. I have not smoked for the last 30 days, stopping when I knew a test was eminent. It will be 32 days when I take the test. I took a couple of home tests with the first piss of the day and passed with a faint line.

I am very nervous about the whole thing. There is so much info on this great site, but it is sometimes confusing. Should I dilute? Should I take aspirin? I don’t have the balls to substitute.
I know that no one can give me a definitive answer but some opinion would help my piece of mind.

If you're passing home tests on the first part of the first pee of the day you should have no problem passing your pre-emp test without doing anything special.

yeah you should be good. my recommendation is to drink a few glasses of water before the test, piss a couple times before the test, and when you do take the test take the sample from midstream

Telling someone to "drink a few glasses of water" is a time bomb. It could backfire. Water tends to dilute urine without adding any of the components necessary to avoid a diluted result. Not to mention that the word "few" is relative. It isn't nearly specific enough. People who seek advice here are panicked and stressed. If you aren't specific, they tend to believe "if a little is good, a lot must be better"
IF a person has passed a home test using their first pee of the day, they should be able to pass any employment drug test later in the day for any employer without drinking excessive water. One - 12 ounce glass of water (sports drink is better) taken approximately one to one and a half hours prior to the test should be plenty. No risk of a diluted result that way.

you make a good point, i will be more careful. i would have to disagree about one glass though. from my personal experience as well as others i have talked to, and this is just my opinion, 3-4 8oz. glasses of water over two or so hours is fine. it is the very excessive drinking that warrants a dilute from what i understand. i also agree that sports drink is superior to water.

it is also my belief that if you pass your home test you shouldn't just say "i have nothing to worry about." this may be true but you are better off taking these precautionary actions to be safe. these drug tests always have something important on the line so you are really better off being safe instead of sorry

Well, I did not mean to create controversy. I am just looking for some good advice. So by what I am reading, I should drink a sport drink such as Gatorade, two hours prior to the test. I will also do the sample mid stream in the afternoon. Apparently based on what Snake is saying the home tests are not reliable, even though the box states 99.6% accurate if used correctly. That is a little un-nurving. How about the aspirin thing. Should I employ this practice?

i am not saying that at all. i am just saying if i were you i would take extra precaution, maybe if it is just for peace of mind. like i say better safe than sorry

Sounds like you are ready for the test. Don't drink too much water and have a nice steak the night before
