Well, I cannot put it off any longer. The HR dept has mandated a test within 48 hours of receipt of their email. I am going on Monday 4/16

I am 5-9 >>>248 pounds, daily smoker who has been clean for 5 weeks.(35 days) I have passed a few home tests with first pee of the day with faint lines. Not to crazy on the exercise other than some daily dog walks and a fairly active life style. My test is at Quest >35105N sap 5-50 w/nit.

Questions:
1. Should I do the full dilution method or should I augment the routine?
2. Should I take Aspirin?
3. If the sample is sent to the lab for further test. Do they still use the same
cut off level of 50ng/ml?
4. Will a home test tell you if the sample is diluted?

What type of test will this be. Is it similar to the home test where they look for a line on a strip, or is it more exacting?

It is your regular run-of-the-mill lab test with a 50ng/mL cutoff for THC.

No big deal, you should pass with no problem. You probably could make points with the HR department and schedule the test for today and pass with no problem. Because 48 hours from today is Sunday, not Monday.

Took my test on Monday. I drank about 24 oz of cranberry juice over a 4 hour period prior to the test. The test was at 2pm I took two 4 aspirin at 6am and 4 more at 10am. I also took some tums. I must have also ate a side of beef over the last two weeks. I tried to get a midstream, but I had very little pee in me. The collector asked for an amount and I gave less. She clicked her tongue at me and said I guess this will have to do. The whole thing was very official. She had me wash my hands, she put blue stuff in the toilet, and the temp was verified in front of me and a bunch of other stuff having to do with verifying.

I have to take another u/a tomorrow for the job I really want, big cash and a vp title. 39 days clean I am sooo nervous. I have gained 3 pounds this week. I am driving the wife crazy with "do you think I will pass" I plan to drink about 24 -32 ounces over an 8 hour period and take the aspirin. Sec, I know you said it was not necessary but I need piece of mind.

Please feel free to chime in with your opinion, it helps to calm me.

250lb, 39 days clean, passed 5 home tests with faint lines, first void. Line shows up as soon as the sample hits the area.

39 days? i'm about 20lbs lighter than you, and i'm a heavy smoker. i did some calculations and i'm at 40-48 days of clean to get under the 50 mark. i think you should be fine...you're passing the home tests, right?

Don't you just love it when someone chimes in to make their first post and it actually proves they have no idea what in the hell they are talking about?

Trebor49, your plan to drink 32 ounces of fluid is just fine. It won't hurt anything, hell, 48 ounces over that time won't hurt anything. It isn't enough to over dilute your urine but it is enough to keep you well hydrated for your test.

If I could say anything to calm your nerves, I would. Right now I understand you are incredibly uptight and stressed and you'll just have to wait it out. Like I said before, you should test negative no matter what you drink as long as you don't drink too much.

I think you're fine without going through all of the trouble.

I went through something similar (the lab sounded exactly the same as what you described). Never heard from them again.

I was at 30 days and had previously tested negative after 20 days of light exercise and abstinence (I had my own doc test me).

I was a light, but daily smoker at 5'7" and 175 lbs (50 years old).

Why do they split the sample when you take the urine test?
