i apologize...I think I'm STILL nervous to be honest (waiting for my results, belly in a twist) Anyhow, I would like your advice. Does my 100 dot being green mean it was over 100, and if so is this a red flag? Like I said, she did ask if I was hot, and I told her I was running a fever, and she marked my yes box for between 90-100. I understand this could be a red flag, however, if she thought it was foul play would she have most likely put a remark in the provided box?? I just want this to be over with, and thank you for your help. I was worried it wouldn't be hot enough, now I'm worried it may have been too hot. But w/ the strip stopping at 100, how would she know if it were over, she didn't measure it w/ a thermometer or anything, I stood right there?!?!?!

On many specimen cups there is one color that means + or - 2 degrees and another color that means + or - 1 degree, something like that anyway. I forgot which color corresponds to which but if they marked the box and accepted the sample, I wouldn't sweat it.

I recently failed a "practice run" due to temp. out of range. I was attempting a practice sub run at my own expense. I was completely at ease, and wanted to have had some experience before the real deal. Unfortunately, I was so at ease that I made mistakes. I was using QF, with the heat pad. I preheated it first on the dash, put the heat pad on, checked the temp(99), crotched it, and went to the facility. No problems, sign the paperwork, no emptying of pockets, hand me the test cup with temp strip along the bottom, un-observed in a closed bathroom(with exhaust fan), blue toilet water, retreive QF, check temp...not registering! From practise, I know it's to hot. I pour it into the test cup and wait. I swirled, I blew, I swirled some more and blew. I waited until I felt any longer would be suspicious. I came out, handed her the sample, and she said "I can't accept this, it's way to hot".
Moral of the story, I haven't practised enough. I learned that a sample can be to hot as well as to cold. The heat pad continues to raise the temp, so once at body temp, don't use the heat pad.
One disappointing thing: I wanted a lab to test my QF, as that is what I plan to use on my real test. I still have questions in my own mind, as I have yet to use it. But hey, for $40 bucks, I received a lesson on subbing, and I still have my job. Good thing this was a "practise run"and not at the facility my work uses. Back to the drawing board.
