Hello Everyone,

I am another freaked out Joe preparing for my first test. I have stopped smoking for a while now, however, I'd rather not leave it to chance and prefer to sub to be certain.

I have no problem obtaining a clean sample of urine, be it through a friend, or by using QF; however, my biggest concern is getting the temperature right.

I have read in the forums of people being recalled on account of the temperature of the sample being just a few degrees off(i.e. 94 degrees).

N2 has suggested some very creative and workable solutions to keeping the temperature right, however, after hearing how sensitive the labs are to temperature I'm afraid no matter how much I practice, circumstances on the day of the exam will be different and things won't go my way.

Money is of no concern in this scenario, I am just looking for the most sure-fire method of passing this exam.

I have looked for the urinator at stores but I'm unable to find it or any other electronic temperature monitoring device, and I am simply not willing to order any such product over the internet for privacy concerns.

QF comes with a temperature monitor on the bottle so I figure my best chance may be to practice with this container over and over with heating pads until I can produce a sample at 98F in my sleep.

I also plan on using a thermometer to ensure the accuracy of the QF temperature measuring device.

This is where I currently stand, and I'm extremely open to suggestion.

Subbing is the best way to pass a piss test. Just keep practicing maintaining the temp until you are comfortable that you can.

I had to go into Quest today and here's what I did. I went to the store and bought an empty 2oz travel bottle, long & skinny, a small funnel & a thermometer. I also prior to this got a reusable hot heart, this is a massage gel heart that you click a metal disk in back and forth and it heats up the crystals. I got it at one of those sex toy parties. You can order them from slumberparties.com. Anyhow, I am a girl, I wore two pairs of granny panties, legging and normal jeans. Not too tight, not too baggy. I practiced at home the day before, measured my pee when it first came out, it read 95.something (don't know why my real pee was this low but anyhoo...) and then I walked around my house doing normal things for ten minutes. When I re-measured it, it had raised to 104 degrees which satisfied me. Better to have it too hot and let it cool some than too cool and impossible to have come out of your body.
The day of I met my clean peeing sister at a nearby gas station right before my test & she peed in the funnel/bottle for me. I immediately activated my hot heart and cradled the bottle in it, and put it the crotch of my undies. I went in and there was no line, I signed a paper, washed my hands, emptied my pockets, locked my purse in a box (which is in your bathroom) & gave her the key. She made the water blue. I went in, locked the door, poured my bottle of pee in which was just a bit more than enough. the temp sticker ran horizontally across the bottom of the cup and read in intervals of 10 degrees, from like 60 to 100 degrees. My 100 dot turned green, the rest stayed blue. I came out & gave it to the lady. She asked me if I was hot, and I smoothly told her I was in fact running a fever. She marked that "yes" the specimen was between 90 and 100 degrees and wrote "none" in the remarks box. If the sticker stopped at 100, I don't know why she would have asked me this though...as though it were way over 100.

The only thing I worry about now is, I never thought to put some toilet paper in the potty. But as far as they know I drip dried, and that is my prerogative. I don't even know that she noticed, and can only pray that if she did it didn't raise suspicion. I also hope it wasn't too hot that they think something was up....I think I'm just being paranoid though. I will post tomorrow my results.

Subbing is the most stress free way to go in my opinion. I wasn't patted down, watched or made to wear a hospital gown, and the whole thing took maybe 10 minutes. Now.....we wait

I have never heard of a specimen cup that had a strip ranging from 60-100 degrees. Are you sure the beginning number was 60? Since the accepted range is 90-100 most of the time, why would the strip start at such a low temp? Anything is possible but I am curious.

Just to fine tune your knowledge on the subject, it really should be at the right temp when you hand the cup over to them. You are supposed to only have 4 minutes in the bathroom. I wouldn't want to hand a collector a sample that was a little hot, not registering on the strip, and then it had to cool down for 4 minutes in front of them before it registered 100 degrees.

No...I don't remember what it was exactly...I just remember there were several dots, all which remained blue except the last/highest one, which was 100. But I do remember that it wasn't like 90, 91, 93....Sorry for the confusion, I just don't remember exactly

sorry, but what do you mean "not registering on the strip"...and they didn't let it sit there for 4 minutes before measuring it, and it didn't take me 4 minutes from when I peed to when I came out and gave it to her...sorry but I'm a bit lost
