I don't get it.

I'm 5'10, 155 pounds, very high metabolism, hardly any body fat.
I was a very heavy, daily smoker for 10+ years. I quit 1 week ago completely. The week before that I was smoking very little, maybe 1 or 2 hits a day.

Last week, I took an at home marijuana test and failed it - the product was called "Instant View". I used my first pee of the day.

Today, I went to CVS and bought the "First Check" marijuana test. I passed it! While the line was a little faint, it was clearly there. I did this using my first pee of the day.

So, I was excited to pass the test, however I wanted to double check. Today I got another test kit that I ordered through the mail before I realized you can buy this stuff at CVS. This product is a marijuana test from drugtestcenter.com. I took the test again today, probably my third void, and I failed it!!!

So wtf? How could I have passed the test using First Check today, then fail another test later in the day? The First Check test says that if you see a line, it's definitely a negative. Is First Check a BS test?

It is difficult to say which test is the incorrect test. you don't know the storage or handling history of the test. Either one could have been exposed to freezing temperatures or excessive moisture. Did you check the expiration date on the outside of the packages? Was one expired?

Sometimes you get a bad one. That is why they are only 97-99% accurate. It is just too bad you don't know which one is the bad one.

well, I guess I'm going to assume that the First Check (negative result) test is bogus, since I smoked last week, I probably should test positive. Sucks that it just got my hopes up for a bit. I checked the expiration and it said Dec 2008. I guess I will try another First Check to see what the deal is, I can spare the $13.

btw, I am doing this because I may have a pre-employment drug test coming up in about a week. I'm going to assume if I do nothing that I will fail. If I'm not clean by then I will probably sub with my wife's urine or some Quick Fix.

I have read all the threads here and have learned (much to my dismay) that drinking water and cranberry juice is pretty much worthless. The last time I took a drug test was in 1994, and I had smoked all the way up until the night before the test, where I drank an incredible amount of water. I ended up passing the test. I guess back then they didn't check for dilution?

You guessed right.

BTW, you might just be able to test negative in another week. You are thin and say you have a fast metabolism. Dilution is a very good option for you. Of course, so is subbing if you know your wife is clean.

I'm scared to try the dilution method because I'm just not sure I want to risk using my own urine.

By the way, I took two more tests today (I know, I'm a bit paranoid).

First was the "First Check" again from CVS. Again, I passed with flying colors.
The second was another "Instant View" test, and I failed miserably.

This pisses me off a bit, I guess that the First Check is a bad batch...OR, could it be that the First Check is using a different cut-off level for THC? First check says 50. The Instant View doesn't say.

One more question, I was talking to a friend today and told him that I may use my wife's urine to sub. He said "Don't do it!!!, I know for a FACT that they check gender, there are metabolites in women's urine that aren't found in men's urine". Well, according to most of the posts in this thread, they do not check for gender. Is there a chance that they could find out that I'm using women's urine? Or should I assume this guy doesn't know what he's talking about.

Just an update to my home testing...

Got another home test kit from a different CVS - again "First Check".

I passed it again.

So that's three home tests from two different locations using First Check that I have passed. I called up First Check and asked them what their cutoff was, and they confirmed 50ng.

Again, two tests I have taken were from "Instant View". I failed both.
I also failed another test from drugtestcenter.com

I called up "Instant View" and asked them what their cutoff level was, they also said 50ng.

Instant View and First Check are both FDA approved.

So to sum it up, 3 passed tests, 3 failed tests, all using voids from the past two days.

Starting to really question the validity of these tests.

I don't know what to tell you about the home tests. First check is a reputable brand. i have never heard of the others (at least that I remember).

If I tested someone named "Joey Smith", is that a woman or a man? How about Kelly Green? How about Jamie Jones? How about Chris Tucker? Are they men or women?

If you can't tell me, how in the hell is the lab going to tell either? They DO NOT document or test any way, shape or form for gender on a drug test.
