I am a F 5'7 about 150lbs, I would classify myself as a heavy smoker 1-2 blunts per day for the past 6 months. I took a UA through LabCorp on 4/23, prior to taking the test I had not smoked in about 4 weeks. A couple of weeks leading up to the test I drastically increased my water intake to about 2+ liters per day. On test day I loosely followed N2's dilution method. I took the aspirin, b complex vitamins, chugged down a detox drink (XXtra Clean), drank 32oz of Gatorade and about 3+ liters of water (the only thing I did not do was take the creatine). The following day 4/24 I get a call from my potential employer saying that they think I drank too much water or liquids and they may have to send me back to LabCorp to take another UA. Never heard anything from them again until today when I get another call from the employer stating that they are still waiting on my test results which went out on Monday!!! WTF I took the test over two weeks ago What the hell is going on and is it normal for it to take this long? Oh I should also mention that I went to the drug store today after I go the call and bought a FirstCheck Marijuana Home Testing Kit (just in case I have to retest) and although it has been 5+ weeks since I have smoked last I did not produce a 100% negative result (line was VERY faint) so I sent it in the mail for further testing. I am totally freaking the hell out and I do not know what to do at this point. It is going to be really embarrassing for me if I don't get this job because I failed the damn drug test . . . I will have to explain it to my fiance, our families and our friend who put his name on the line to get me this job in the first place. We will all look like a**holes, me being the biggest. What the hell should I do now?? HELP!!!!!!

Sit tight and try not to freak the hell out (as if that was possible, right?!). I look at companies who drug test as shallow and uneducated, or they need to make right with their insurance companies. IMO, you might be put at the end of the que because you needed to "retest" and they will get to it when they want to. Good luck and let us know what happens...

No, it shouldn't take that long (over a week, not two weeks ago as you stated) to mail out your specimen. Call the employer and ask if the testing facility perhaps mixed your specimen up with another. If you gave your specimen on the 24th, or even the 25th, the lab should have had the test on the following day at the very latest. These are supposed to be sent out via overnight courier (FedEx, UPS, DHL, UPSP Next Day Air, etc.)

Tell the HR person that you thought about what she said and the more you thought about it the more concerned you became. If they didn't "send it out" until last Monday (I am assuming that would be 4/30/07), then your specimen would have been held at a collection facility for almost a week. Ask why your specimen was not "sent out" on the same day you gave the specimen.

On the other hand, if the HR person mis-stated and meant to say they were merely waiting for results which were sent from the lab to the MRO, you could be in trouble. I doubt it though. Most MRO's won't wait 2-3 days to contact you. They usually do it on the same day they receive the lab report.

Usually only positives take this long. I don't know what to tell you on this one. Someone is messing up somewhere and you need to find out who and what happened.

I called Labcorp and they said my results were sent out to the employer already and that they should have it by now since the test was done on the 23rd. I did receive a phone call on the 24th saying that I drank too much water and would probably have to take my test again, but I have not heard anything since then and why would the HR person say that they are still waiting for my results?!? The person at Labcorp said they could not give me my results and I don't understand why?!? What is the purpose of a results hotline if you can't get your results over the phone? They said that is the employers responsibility because they requested it. I AM FREAKING OUT OVER HERE PEOPLE!!!

True, the hotline is there if you want a test done on yourself. If the employer wants a test done, then they can call the hotline and get the results. Usually, tho, it is posted on a secure website and the employer needs to retrieve it. Call the HR person and tell her that what you said. That Labcorp has it completed and she should look it up. IF she can't find it, then there was a typo or some other problem and it is missing (thr report, not the specimen).

I am not sure. You didn't mention how much fluid you drank before your second test. The fact that one week later you were showing a very faint line has me a bit worried about your THC levels a week prior.

Sorry I can't be more reassuring for you. I think you have about a 50/50 chance. Maybe a bit more than that of passing, but at most a 60/40 chance of passing.

I didn't do ANY dilution before the home test because I wanted to see the results of the "worst possible scenario" in case I have to go in again I wanted to know if I would have to rely on the dilution method or if I could just do it the old fashioned way. Thanks
