Metabolism: Up until abuot 6 months ago I was VERY active with soccer. Since then I have not really worked out more than a five times per month.

Story:

From the period of April 1st - 25th I finished an 1/8th of mids by myself. Prior to that I had not smoked in a couple of years. I last smoked on April 25th. The likely date of my drug test is May 14th or 15th. It appears to be a standard drug test for a large publicly traded company. I have recently purchased two home drug tests. I will likely take one in a couple days to test the dilution method in the "Sticky" and another one a day or two before the test.

1) Is it a waste of a test to take a test in the next two or three days?
2) With a standard workout-a-day regimen and healthy eating, how borderline is my situation (combined with a dilution method the day of the test)?
3) The other question I have is about what the procedure is if I do in fact have a test that is too diluted? Is it treated as a failure?

It isn't a waste to take a home test in the next few days, but I like your plan better.
Your situation if you follow the dilution method correctly and accurately, is not borderline at all. I believe you have an excellent chance of passing with dilution.
If your specimen comes back as a dilute negative, it is up to the employer whether to hire you, re-test you or pass on your application all together. It is hard to say, because it is employer specific.

The only thing you don't account for is substitution. You might want to purchase some synthetic to have on hand just in case your home test can't show negative even with dilution. You have plenty of time to purchase either at a head shop or online.

I read your last 100 posts last night (not as a stalker of course but to see what your thoughts were on different scenarios). I am feeling more confident about my situation.

I went ahead and used a Home Test Kit. I believe I got a negative result. The control line was very clearly defined (almost purple). The THC line was lighter but definitely had a pink hue to it, especially near the right and left edges of the test.

However, the instructions talk about a "ghost line" that is not in fact a negative result. I would definitely say there is a fair amount of pink-ness in the test line, but is there a clear distinction between a ghost line and a negative result? The instructions make it seem as though the ghostline is only there while the urine is migrating down the surface, so does that mean the appearance of any pink-hued line after that is in fact a negative result? I apologize for not having a digi to take a picture with, but I do have a picture on my camera phone.

If you can see it, it is there. I use the old "if I can photocopy it, it is there". A lot of times I can't tell for sure if the line is dark enough because the pink hues tend to run. I put the device on a photocopier. FI the line photocopies (in black and white, taking away the confusing pink hues of the entire test strip), and I can see it on the copy, then I don't send to a lab for confirmation.

Even when it doesn't photocopy and I send to a lab for confirmation, about 50% of the time it comes back as negative.

A color copy will have the same optical illusion as the real device. You need to have a black and white photocopy.

It sounds like you are below the 50 ng/mL cutoff anyway. When do you test? If in a couple of days, don't sweat it. Did you take the home test using your first pee of the day (most concentrated with THC metabolites) or later in the day after you had drank fluids?

If you used your first pee of the day, you are good to go. IF not, you may need to do some dilution.

It was my second pis of the day but it was far from being clear. I've had one glass of water, one glass of cranberry juice, one bowl of cereal, and one banana. I did take a mid-stream sample but it was such a weak pis that I couldn't have filled up a regular-sized glass. I'll likely wait about 5 days and take a first-pis-of-the-day sample.

I don't test 'til about May 14th, so I'm feeling a lot better. I guess now that I'm signed up for these forums I may as well snoop around and see what else goes on here besides the 200 "will I pass" posts per day.

We always welcome intelligent banter on the other forums. Here, in the drug testing forums, we welcome intelligent banter, but rarely get it.

Just for the record, I think you will do fine for your drug test provided you don't smoke between now and then (that includes eating mj too.)
