I passed an entrance exam for an internship back in February, and they told me I'd start working in June, and that I would have a drug test before starting. I quit smoking in February and went 56 days without weed, then they gave me this sudden no-warning test in late April. They said I had to show up for it within 24 hrs or my application would forfeit.
I had allowed myself plenty of time, so I passed with flying colors and they confirmed that I have the internship.
I'd LOVE to start toking again. The thing is, I'm a bit triggershy now because they gave me that one test on such short notice, and it's still another month before I start working there. I have this sneaking suspicion that (with my luck) they're going to give me another suprise test if I start smoking again.
Has anyone ever heard of companies doing a second test "just to make sure" in a scenario like mine, even after the first one was clean? It seems unlikely that they would, but this is an important step in my career, and it's not worth throwing it away for weed.

Find out if they do random drug testing there. If they do, play it safe and stay clean. If they don't, and only test if you give them a reason (accident, probably cause, etc.), I think you're ok.

I never heard of any company giving a follow up test for pre-employment after the first was negative. Suppose it depends on the company though.

The general rule is wait till after your first paycheck to smoke if they don't random test.

Oh yea, and if you have ANY test coming up, QUIT NOW! Is this worth jail or losing this $$$ ? NO! If you think so, you'll probably end up like this .

IMO dont smoke till you get your frist paycheck ... do you need to smoke that bad to take the chance to lose that wonderful job you got??????

I got my first paycheck but it was only 1 week after so im not smoking.... it aint worth it to me....
