Hawg gets DOT tested and uses Quick Fix so it can't be supervised.

It depends on the circumstances. Pre-employment and randoms are not OBSERVED. Return-to-duty tests are almost always OBSERVED. Follow-up tests are sometimes OBSERVED. Reasonable cause/suspicion tests are sometimes/often OBSERVED, depending on the circumstances of the suspicion or cause.

However; if in a pre-employment or random test the collector sees adulteration materials or a substitution or the donor mentions substituting, or the specimen color is blue/green, temperature is too hot/cold, etc., etc., the collector can and will ask for a second void and the second void is always OBSERVED in this type of circumstance.

Hey sec just to let you know I have had pre-employment tests that HAVE been observed. I think it really depends on the employer and the level of job your going for. And to my suprise my test that was a reasonable cause(the one that I failed) was NOT observed, I thought for sure it would be, to bad I did bring in a sub sample.

They are not supposed to be observed. Not all collection sites follow proper protocol.

Please don't confuse MONITORED with OBSERVED. they are two very different processes.

Monitored is used when the water sources or access points to a restroom cannot be secured. The monitor is simply in the room, but outside of a stall.

Observed is when the observer actually watches the urine flow from the body into the collection cup. The observer cannot be standing behind the donor or on the other side of a screen or on the other side of an open door. They must see the urine exit the body.
