Good news is that I have passed my driving test at Con-Way (Trucking) and am now employed.. unless I don't pass my drug test. Took a driving test today, and passed... then they filled me in that I have to take a drug test within three hours. So, I went to walmart, took a home test and I think I passed. I could barely see any line. Like, there was something there, but it didn't even really look like a line. But like you guys say, a line is a line. I dilluted my piss in a last ditch effort. Drank a bunch of water and gateraid. Hope I passed. I should know in three days. Wish me luck. P.S. This was a DOT drug test.

Hopefully the "bunch" you drank wasn't too much. Good luck to you.

For a DOT test, they need to have a negative drug test result. A dilute negative is unacceptable for pre-employment. Don't smoke again until you know if you passed or not. If they put you to work driving, you passed, if not, they will have to send you for a re-test.

This isn't a pre-employment test. I already did that... because they hired me as a driver sales apprentice... which means I went into training to get more experience than what I had at driving a truck... then I had to take what I learned from them and take a driving test... I passed, and now I am a driver... as long as I can pass another drug test. For the pre-emp test I dilluted last time, and I mean straight out pissed water and I still passed.

Ok then... heres a good question to ask. What happens if I fail the test? How does failing a piss test for a job affect my CDL license?

Because you have to take a urine test to drive, I would guess that you just don't drive for anyone unless you pass the test. My cousin failed a random and lost his job. They didn't revoke his license if that is what you are worried about.

You will need to complete Substance Abuse Professional evaluation, the recommended treatment and the re-evaluation before even taking the "return to duty" test before you can drive for this or another employer again. After successfully passing the return to duty test, you will be subject to follow-up testing of a minimum of 6 tests over the next calendar year and continuing for up to 5 years.

If your cousin is mechanic-ing on big rigs, (diesel trucks over 26,000 GVW) and taking them for test drives on public roadways, while working on them, he is in a safety sensitive job function and is still subject to the same rules and regulations as if he was still driving.
