Okay, on Wednesday, yesterday, I took a drug test. I havent smoked pot since 4/20 when i hit three different blunts once and on 4/23, i hit a bong three times. so 6 hits in three days. Anyway prior to that I smoked probably once or twice a week but I quit the end of march. So i not smoking from the end of march to the end of april, smoked a little, then took a test on 5/23 exactly a month difference. I dont consider myself a pot smoker. Anyway I took ibuprofen and naproxen along with a decongestant starting on 5/19 all the way to 5/23. I was sick as a dog when i went to take my test. I didnt think i had anything to really worry about. Then my test results came back non-negative, but that person giving the test gave me my copy and told me to leave. So i went back to my employer and he said it doesnt say if u passed. So he got on the phone and called the lady. This is when i found out i was non-negative. I just wanted to shoot myself. I did a lot of work to get this job back and now they are sending the results to a lab. Should I be really worried? I took 3 ibuprofen 3 hours before the test along with decongestant. Plus the nite before I took naproxen. Does that really effect your test? I'm starting to get really worried. I went out yesterday and bought a detox and chugged it, too late tho. Any Input would be helpful...

I'm 6'3" 230, Im in pretty good shape. I exercise not enough, could lose about 10-15 pounds. Im not really fat, got a little bit of a beer gut. This test was a pre-employment, although i was employed last year with the same company. Im definately a casual smoker. And havent smoked for exactly a month.

Use the search button to search for answers to the meds you took. The lab will distinguish whether it was those meds or THC metabolite itself.

advil is ibuprofen

Since you don't know what you tested positive for, maybe it was the decongestant that caused it (not for THC but something else) but again, the lab will be able to determine this. If it is the med, then you won't be reported as positive for anything....from what I've read here.

Did you home test yourself with the first void of the day to see if you test positive or negative for THC?

well, i dont know for sure, but i heard on the phone that my boss said something about pot. Afterwards he asked me if i had ever smoked pot, and if i was on any antibotics. My boss said i tested non-negative for something.

would taking ibuprofen and wal-proxen or naproxen really mess with your results?

I read the posts, i really dont know, I dont know how much pain killers i was taking, i felt so sick and my head was swollen (sinus infection), i just kept taking Ibuprofen and naproxen, both walgreens brands and this decongestant that i got from the university doctor last fall. I dont know what its called.
anyway i really thought i would be fine. I guess Ill have to wait and see if i passed because right after i took the test and got sent home i took Strip Body Cleanser from GNC. I was so pissed i didnt do it prior to taking the test
