6'2, 185lb semi-active 21 years old, never much of a smoker (smoked very occasionally) up until 4 months ago, smoked occasionally for 2 months, then once a day for two weeks up until i stopped a month and a half ago, because of a pre-internship urine test. I also do not do any other illegal drugs. i decided to go the dilution route, so i've been eating red meat for the last 4 days (to get creatinine up), and yesterday, I drank a ton of gatorade, took several aspirin, tums, and vitamin b12 for about 4 hours before the test. got to the place, and they closed due to a lack of staff for that day. this morning, i woke up about 2.5 hours before my test, drank around 3 liters of water, did the vitamin/aspirin/tums thing again. however, my girlfriend showed up about 45 mins before i took the test, and we had a quickie, then went to the test (mistake?). i had voided a few times before the test, slightly yellow (hopefully because of the vitamin b12), and voided a bit yellow at the test. i also had to piss pretty bad a couple of times after the test. two questions: 1) what are your guys estimates for a negative sample? 2) if it comes up positive for some reason, what are my options? Can I raise hell and demand a re-test? What are the excuses I can use to explain why it might have came up positive? (besides the fact that I smoked lol) Thanks a bunch, I appreciate it

| With the exception of the timing, I think you have a good chance of passing. You obviously did your homework on this site or somewhere/how. A quickie? Nice! Especially for those of us that haven't had an... outlet for that kinda tension in years. Maybe I'm too nice of a guy. Sorry, off topic there.Again, I think you're good if you were clean for as long as you say you were. Timing excluded, your dilution regimen looks good. The dilution sticky says start about 4 hours before, if I remember. I've used it myself to pass (successfully). Post your results here and in the Results thread, and let us know how you did. Good luck! EDIT: Oh yea, and if you do fail, RAISE HELL. Don't know what you could say, but it never hurts.

I think you passed, and your girlfriend may have saved you from a diluted result. 3 liters is a LOT of water. By my calculations, about 100 ounces. The time your girlfriend and you spent together "excercising", may have kept you from drinking any additional, and actually sweating some off. I believe with 6 weeks clean, you could have passed with nothing at all, or at worst, slight dilution. You should have tested yourself first. If you are positive, there really is nothing you can say. If it was a split specimen, you can have the second specimen sent to a second lab. You might be borderline enough so the second specimen might come back as negative. I really doubt you will be positive so this is not where your worry should be. You should be concerned that it will come back as diluted. For an internship, I sincerely doubt that they would reject you because of a diluted result (no reason, just a hunch). The possibility of a re-test is always there, so, until you know for sure, don't smoke. I give you a 65% chance of testing negative I give you a 34.95% chance of testing dilute negative I give you a .05% chance that you will test dilute positive or positive (basically the same as far as the employer is concerned).

The lab never calls. The MRO will call for all positives, positive dilutes, adulterated, substituted (when detected) and invalid (invalid is when the urine is so dilute that it is below acceptable levels for both specific gravity and creatinine).

Hey guys, thanks a ton for the quick input One last thing: if it comes back diluted, will it be a big deal, or will they just make me take it again? Granted, as a former collegiate (now casual) athlete, I usually stay pretty active (not this past week though, due to the test), so would it be plausible for me to just say I was working out afterward and was just hydrating myself? Thanks again everyone

Medical Review Officer. This is a doctor who reveiws the test to ensure the collection and laboratory procedures were followed and who determines if a medication may have caused a positive result. The MRO will call you to verify any prescriptions you are taking, or call to ask if you know anything about why you tested positive, adulterated or substituted.
