| Okay, here it goes Smoked ten days from today. And not a lot (I suck at smoking, so I got probably 2 hits, or something). I didn't feel a lot either. Before that I had smoked twice before - probably spaced out over 1.5 months for each. I'm 150lbs, 6'0", fairly fast metabolism, I've been an on-and-off competitive runner for years now. I've been drinking a whole lot of water, probably more than a gallon a day, for the past three days. It's a 5-panel urine test adminstered by Labcorp. I'll drink a lot tommorrow morning to make sure it's the second time I've peed, and probably drink more after. This is a pre-employment test, so a dilute measurement probably isn't death. What are my chances? I'm seeing a range of about 2-7,8,9,10 days here, so I'm right at the cutoff, and I don't know if drinking a lot of water and smoking very little originally will put me in the passing range. Thanks all. |

| Stop drinking so much water. You only need to drink your normal amount. I am confidant that you will pass without doing anything at all. I don't think you smoked enough to reach the cutoff. If you continue to drink alot you will get dilute which could fail you pending on the employer.

| Don't spaz over how much you drank on days before the test, that won't cause a dilute result. Only what you drink the day of the test will affect the result of being dilute or not. As 29 said, drink a normal amount the day of the test (today?), given your smoke history. |

| Okay, if anyone can give me bullshit made-up but reassuring statistic numbers? Please? Oh, and statistics seem sort of reassuring for this one. NORML's great link to a court drug investigation shows that acute use will not test after 5 or 6 days, and I have at least 3-5 more than that, especially when they are dealing with high dosages and I certainly didn't have a high dose. Still, praying. I'm thinking I'll call the office Tuesday to clear up some random fact about the position, and all. |

| By Paul L. Cary, M.S. Toxicology and Drug Monitoring Laboratory University of Missouri Health Care The testing of drug court clients for marijuana usage is important for abstinence monitoring. Conventional wisdom holds that marijuana remains detectable in urine for 30 days or longer following smoking. This widely held assumption has complicated the interpretation of testing results, likely resulted in the delay of therapeutic intervention and judicial sanctioning, and fostered the denial of marijuana usage by drug court participants. A careful review of relevant marijuana elimination research reveals that a reliable cannabinoid detection window can be established to aid drug courts in initiating strategies necessary produce to behavioral change. The purpose of this paper is to provide sensible cannabinoid detection guidance that will assist courts in their decision making process. An extensive evaluation of marijuana elimination research is presented and cannabinoid detection window guidance is offered. Recent scientific literature indicates that it is uncommon for occasional marijuana smokers to test positive for cannabinoids in urine for longer than seven days using standard cutoff concentrations. Following smoking cessation, chronic smokers would not be expected to remain positive for longer than 21 days, even when using the 20 ng/mL cannabinoid cutoff. While longer detection times have The Marijuana Detection Window 24 been documented in research studies, these prolonged elimination findings represent uncommon occurrences and should not be used as exculpatory evidence in the majority of case adjudications. The interpretation of urine cannabinoid testing results related to client detoxification, establishing an abstinence baseline and continued testing after positive results are discussed. Drug courts are encouraged to establish a reasonable and pragmatic cannabinoid detection window in order to provide objective criteria for equitable and consistent court decisions.
