Hey guys I need to take a quest diagnostics test today, been clean about 4 weeks and have been told to get a home test to just be sure but...I dunno I'm assuming a quest test is a little more advanced than a cvs hometest? How do those things stand up to actual lab tests? Also, does anyone know how intense quest diagnostics piss tests are?

They're 99.9% reliable & have a 50ng cutoff like the majority of tests that are taken for employment, etc. I'd say they're worth it & relieve the stress of wondering. Do you have your paperwork for the test & if so, what does it say?

Assumption is the mother of all fuck ups. Not only is "get a home test" some of the most repeated advice given on this site but this question is asked and answered repeatedly on this site. Most employers will opt for urine samples to get an immunoassay performed first and all non-negative samples (exactly what that means) will then be confirmed with GC/MS. Well guess what, instant tests use the same technology as immunoassay tests performed by labs but in compact size. Flor stated that they are 99.9% accurate but I don't think it is quite that high, more like 97%. Factors that can influence their accuracy is the expiration and how the tests were stored. Use the first void and if you have any doubt use another test from a different brand or at least a different manufactured lot from the same brand.

So the question to you is this, is $20 worth the job, or if you planned well enough ahead, is $2 worth it?

A home test done with your first piss of the day will take the guessing away. The first piss is the dirtiest. If you pass that, you should be good to go.

Don't be so quick to apologize. I agree with you and I don't apologize for it. They are advertised and sold as 99.9% accurate and you aren't the first one to post that figure.
