I've seen repeatedly reported that the SAP 5-50 test indicates the number of drugs tested for (5) and the cutoff level for THC (50 ng/ml). Are the other cutoff levels as described on the Quest page then? (Here: http://www.questdiagnostics.com/empl...esting_es.html)

If so, why should the THC test be the only referenced when five drugs are being tested? Any ideas?

I'm serious. Is that not suspicious that they would only quote THC? How sure are these people that the 50 means 50 ng/ml THC?

the only thing I can think(im taking the same test as you tomorrow and it specifically sites the 50ng/ml for THC with quest) but I don't know for sure... is that A. Marijuana is the most used illicit drug of the 5 and B. it stays in your system BY FAR( )the longest, so I would think of all the positives they get, 99% of them are for weed. How about we just take THC off and have a 4-panel?

What do you mean, only quote THC? A five panel drug test is just that. It test for 5 drugs.
Because ng/ml is the unit of measure used and people experienced in drug testing know it.
For example: Sec3 is a collector. Many others and myself included have taken drug tests and done lots of research, so we know.
Drug testing isn't a trick to fool people. It is pretty straight forward.
1)Drug tests have a cut off level.
2)If you are over the cut off level you fail.
3)If you are under the cut off level you pass.
4)If you use drugs you could fail.
We are the ones that do the tricking to fool them. We should test positive for marijuana but by using different methods we trick the test into thinking we are under the cut off level.

Brings up a valid point in my mind (and maybe this was what was trying to be asked)...why is there only a cutoff listed for THC? Why not all of the drugs being tested for? I'd like to say that accounts for being passively exposed but I don't know that's the reason. I know you can't fail for passive smoke (maybe under very, very extreme conditions where you actually got high from it and took the test soon after).

Second hand smoke won't cause you to fail a drug test. I don't know why you think THC is the only one that has a cut off. They all do. Some lower, but most higher.

I know there's a cutoff for all of them but just wonder why is the cutoff on the forms listed (usually) only for THC? I'm also aware second hand smoke won't cause a fail.

I take it you mean the custody and control form. If that is the one you mean. I wasn't aware that the cut off level of any of the drugs was listed. Mine, from a year ago, doesn't have any cut off listed. It just has the type of test. I guess sec3 will have to answer this one.

Yep, that's what I mean. My forms have always said either 5-10 (substances/panel) and a 50 right after it. Reading here, the 50 has always been explained as the marijuana (THC) cutoff. Guess I should've been more clear.
