Not testing for SG or creatinine clearance? I find that hard to believe, especially for SG. I could see them not testing for creatinine clearance (I saw a stat that 85% of drug tests now test for creatinine clearance) but they have been testing a sample's SG since just about the beginning of drug testing. Did your friend actually see a copy of his results? Or was it an instant test?

Not being in the bathroom, that I believe.

Creatinine is checked along with SG to determine a "diluted" sample. Under current DHHS regulations, a sample has to undergo both checks in order to arrive at a "diluted" result. A "diluted" sample is reported when:

*The creatinine concentration is greater than or equal to 2 mg/dL, but less than 20 mg/dL and the specific gravity is greater than 1.0010, but less than 1.0030 on a single aliquot.

Hope that helps a little

Having just taken a urine test at LabCorp a few weeks ago I know they follow DOT standards which say that they must test for specific gravity and creatinine. This is to make sure that people don't fool them too easily. It is true that they are not in the bathroom though. Since this is the case, the dilution and sub threads are your friend.
