Hey, I have a thread in the hair testing section. I thought I was going to get a preemployment hair test. Turns out it is a GC/MS test for Quest!! That is a urine test, yes??

My background: Haven't eaten a bud sandwich for ~42 days, before that another month break, had some has cookies in mid feb, then clean til december 30th, then clean 2 months, then heavy smoker for 3-4 years before october. I'm 6', 195lbs, lean and athletic body type. my metabolism is averagish.

I bought a home testing kit and I tested negative for mj in the preliminary. Think I have anything to worry about? I'm thinking that I can just drink some water and give them my 2nd or 3rd pee of the day tommorow when I go get it done!

I'm so happy this isnt a hair test.. i've been stressing so hard about it. I did maccujo about 4 times and i bleached and redyed my hair this morning because i was worried they'd clip my hair and attach it to the form right then and there.

If you are testing negative on a home test, be careful you don't drink too much water, gatorade, soda, juice, whatever before your test. That way you don't test diluted. No more than 20 ounces within 1-1/2 hours of your test.

So a GC/MS is definitely a pee test?

GC/MS doesn't mean that it is a urine test.

No, but some of the other things she read off the CCF and posted in the hair and saliva forum does tell me it is a urine test. There is no such thing as a "split hair specimen".

Quest does make a form for both hair and urine.

Does your test form have anything on there about the location of where the hair was from? i.e.: Head, legs, arms, chest, facial; with a check box next to each location?

IF not, it is a urine test.

can I post a picture of the control sheet? i will black out all personally identifiable markings

and no, there are no location specifications about where a sample were to be pulled from

Yes, black out all the numbers at the top of the form, the bar code, the employer info and the MRO info in "Step 1". Also, there are stickers at the bottom of the form, about 7 inches long by 1 inch wide. Black out the number on those stickers as well.
