I am posting this on the behalf of my girlfriend, i know some ppl will tell me to use the search option but it was her request that i made a thread and actually get some feedback. And i appreciate any help beforehand, Thanks.

Ok, heres the situation, my girlfriend smoked 1 hit from a joint this Monday the 4th of June. The weed was sour diesel grown from a friend, pretty strong stuff. Anyway, she took one puff and she just found out yesterday that she will have a drug test on either the 18th or 19th. She has NEVER smoked before and this is her first time actually getting high.

Is she going to pass her urine drug test? Shes 5'3 and about 106-8 pounds, body fat of probably 13-16% (girls usually have more body fat than guys right?)
The past few days she has kept herself hydrated and been sweating alot (Due to the hot and humid weather in NYC)

So what are her chances? Sorry for the long post.

p.s. My roommate is buggin out too, he didn't smoke but was in the room when we were smoking, hes abstaining from weed (over a year now) due to a job offer, but he says he will probably fail a hair drug test now due to the second hand high he got from our smoke, is this true?

Use the search feature using the term one time high or one-time high. Then for your other friend use the search feature for second hand smoke. Then tell them about this thing called home drug tests. Also, they might want to start fending for themselves.

Relax, your girlfriend will be fine by the time she takes her drug test. As long as what your saying is true, she will pass. People who have only smoked once in their life, or people who haven't smoked in a while but smoke again typicaly get clean within 1-3 days. If she's still worried about it after you tell her that, get a home drug test from your local drug store or walmart for $20-$30 and use the first piss of the day as it's the most concentrated urine.

Do you believe everything on the web? When I tried to see who ran this website it doesn't even tell you. For all you know it could be my next door neighbor's 8 year old son.

Immunoassay tests are constantly refined to eliminate false positives. All immunoassay can show is either a negative or a non-negative sample. When it goes to GC/MS the lab will get a 100% definitive answer because no two chemicals have the same Mass Spec results. Each chemical is unique in its Mass Spec. Period. Do some research on GC/MS.

Here now so that you know that you aren't reading info from an 8 year old, let's get our info from someone in the drug testing industry.


Sec3 (who owns a collection center) are there any such things as false positives any more?

Do you know that website you hotlinked says you can get a false positive from blue lettuce? Please........ They also list Lortab as giving a false positive for opioid anagesic. That is impossible because Lortab is an opioid so there is nothing false about that. Here is another one, "Dexedrine - false positive for Amphetamines and Ecstacy." Guess what, Dexedrine is an amphetamine, again nothing false there.
That is like saying Hash oil will give you a false positive for marijuana.......DUH!!!!!!


Tell you what, smoke a big fat blunt the night before your drug test. Then when the MRO calls to say you failed, give him one of the things off that list as the reason you failed. He will laugh in your face.

And if we talking about urine THC test strips with 50 ng/mL cut off level for 11-nor-Δ9-THC-9 COOH calibrator not about GC/MS method - the detection time frame above also can be trusted.
Do you think that the all companies send all urine samples to the labs for GC/MS method?

Yes the question was about a urine test but the OP never said it was an instant test. It really doesn't matter though because instant test strips use the same immunoassay technology that a lab would use on the first half of their test, only they are instant and portable. Most employers/ probation/ whatever use the 50 ng/ml cutoff on immunoassay just like instant strips.

Again this isn't right either. Immunoassay looks for 31 different metabolites while it is GC/MS that looks only at THC-COOH.

You will be hard pressed to find people who are daily smokers who pass in 10 days. Here is one example. Go through the threads and you will find plenty of daily smokers who are still failing home tests after 30 days.

At least 85% of tests use GC/MS for confirmation. That stat came from either the Labcorp or Quest website or somewhere very reliable, I can't remember.
