I have an upcoming employment Urine Test. When I was being interviewed by my employer, they told me that once the drug test comes back clean, they would start me the next day. They specifically told me that they will have the results of the drug test within 24 hours.

Now, I read here alot, and have read in other places that sometimes the results take a week, 10 days, two weeks... etc.

What is the difference between my test, which results come within 24 hours, and someone elses test which results come in a few weeks? Are all employment tests generally the same?

I'm using Quick Fix 4.0 for my test, so i'm sure i'll be fine. Just curious as to why mine is only taking 24 hours to get the results back.

One of two things:

1. You are taking an instant test and the employer will know if the instant screen comes back as negative or non-negative. If non-negative, it will have to be forwarded to a lab and it would take 3-6 days minimum if positive, 24 hours if confirmed negative by thel ab.

2. Your employer is thinking positive as all negative tests can be reported out within 24 hours. it is the positive tests lab tests that take 3-6 days minimum.
