I have been smoking for years - and by that I mean 30 years. My reasons are medicinal, but I have cut down my intake substantially over the past couple of years, and even more so lately...like cut down from 3 doobs a day to a couple of hits of a bowl a day...not bad, huh? Anyway...I lost my job 8 months ago, and finally got a new one. I did not think I would be tested...but was anyway. I did a drink, had been clean for 7 days, and the instant read at the lab came up borderline. They argued whether to send it to the lab, and eventually decided to do so. This was yesterday. I am supposed to start my new job tomorrow. My gut is telling me to go in, start my job, and pretend nothing is wrong. I have heard that ibuprofin can skew results, and - well - I have been on 600 mg ibuprofin 3 to 4 times a day for my arthritis. Will this help me? Please - advice - this is the best job that I have ever gotten...

If your suppose to start tomorrow I'd say go in. If you don't go in chances are you won't be working for them...who doesn't show up on the first day (someone who doesn't care about working)? IMO, I'd be more suspicious to not go in. Good luck.

If an instant test is borderline (meaning the collector is asking for a second opinion on whether there is a line or not), chances are (9 times out of 10), at the lab it will come back as negative. That has been my experience, anyway.
