I took a drug test last Tuesday (28 Aug) and used the urinator along with synthetic urine. I've done this in the past and passed tests before but the place I went to this time seemed a little more professional than the usual dumps I get tested in. Anyway, I passed the temperature test and all seemed to be going well but now it's been over a week and when I called my prospective employer she said she hasn't gotten a reply back from the testing place one way or the other. She also said they normally get results back in a couple of days.

My question is: does this happen a lot? Have they found some new way to detect synthetic urine recently or am I just being paranoid?

I guess it's possible the lab or whatever is busy with a lot of samples but any advice you give to shed light on this delay would be much appreciated.

You're probably being paranoid. If I was you, I'd call my potential boss and ask her if it would be out of line for you to follow up with the company who did the test... say something like "I'd really like to start soon, and the fact that they haven't given you the test results yet is kind of bothering me. Would you object to me calling them to try to expedite the process?"

Better yet, call and ask if your prospective boss has a way to trace the test to see what the problem is.

Sometimes tests get lost in shipping or there is a data entry error at the lab and the test must be "found" and the data corrected before the employer can access the results.

No, if they accepted the QF 4.0, then there is really no reason for the delay. Trace the test.

Thanks for the advice guys! I did some calling around and although the testing place wouldn't tell me anything at all about my own test (which I though was kind of weird) my boss was very helpful and said she would look into it. I just got a call from her today saying they found my sample and are going to test it right now and call me back Monday.

Now, I'm no scientist but doesn't urine break down into ammonia after a couple hours? Can they really test a sample after sitting on it for nine days? I hope synthetic urine doesn't settle down at the bottom of the cup after a while like kool-aid does. Maybe they're just saying they're going to test it to save face, what do you guys think?

Be happy, because on Monday (unless you subbed with THC positive fake urine) you'll get a call saying you passed, and asking if you can start Tuesday. :P
