I've looked all over Google, Errowid, and this forum and I can't seem to find out exactly how a random test is done. Are they done on site, or at a testing place? Are you watched or do you get privacy? Is there any way to get a substitute in there or does some weed Nazi grab you by the arm suddenly at work and say "I'm not taking my eyes off you until you pee!"? Has anyone here been random tested themselves and have any stories? I'm sure it varys from place to place so just any information at all would be helpful to me.
I myself may or may not be facing these tests in the future, I'm just asking mainly out of curiosity. And please don't turn this thread into a debate about quitting or anything I am just asking for the basic facts on these creepy tests.

I was randomly tested once when i had a job at a legitimate company doing bitch work, but lucky that was before i smoked. They just told me that i had to go to their approved site and get tested with in 24 hours, and i could take half a day off work if i needed to. I also worked at a grocery store after i started smoking (quit the office job cause it sucks ass everyone working there was a 35+ year old female and i was their bitch) and they gave saliva drug test randomly where they would call you into the managers office and put a drug test stick in your mouth and you found out if you passed a few days later. I passed the one they gave me some how. Every place is different though, so it all just depends basically.

It varies on the employer.
Some employers do get all Nazi on you and watch you until you pee.
Some are done on-site. Some are done at a lab.
