| So I was busted at the Dr's office for marijuana in urine. I thought I would pass, Im so stupid. 56 yrs old and still hold the stupid sign. Anyway, Who see's my medical record at that office, every doctor that works now in that clinic. ??? Every nurse......... I am transferring to another Doctor effective Jan. 8th and of course I am not having my medical records transferred. That is my right I believe. Since being tested I called the Dr's office for some antibiotics, but they refused saying you have to pee in a cup for them prescribing antibiotics for a bladder infection like I would really go back to their office, last time I had to pee in their cup I got busted. So since they consider me a pot head, they would not consider me telling them the truth about a bladder infection. So since the day before Thanksgiving I have been in all this piss pain and they dont obsiously care about that, I will go to the ER before going to their office. I do remember them in the past rx'ing me antibiotics for a bladder infection. Also about my medical records, can anybody request them without my permission, this has upset me so much, this sin on my medical chart now still riding on that wave about never going into remission after being on chemo thearpy and being busted now for asking for pain pills I am sooooooooo paranoid about this drug test on my medical records, I mean I dont want my liver doc to ever see my family doc's medial chart on me, because someday I might need a liver transplant, and I cant have that showing up, Unless Im David Crosby. Im not getting this out very well, just so frustrated with the medical community I better post when Im a little less upset. |

| Your doctor can't share your medical records with anyone without your explicit consent. So what if your doc knows you smoke pot? If anything, it's a good thing, as your doctor isn't going to prescribe you something that could be affected by marijuana use. Mariuana use doesn't have any significant impact on the liver as far as I know. Drinking alcohol in large quantities does, however.

Drug tests are procedure for giving birth not for writing prescriptions. Paticularly antibiotics have to deal with infection theres no medical necessity for him to drug test you Hell you could even claim he wanted you to do an unnecessary drug test procedure before he'd write you a perscription. Seems like retina scans are next Eh? Hes lucky it wasnt me in his office.

First of all, ihis sons did not die from a marijuana overdose. How do I know this? Because it's impossible to OD on marijuana. PERIOD. As a doctor, his personal views aren't supposed to enter into diagnoses. He is supposed to treat patients, plain and simple. He can't test you without your consent. PERIOD. Once again, my bullshit detector is going off...

As stated before, he cannot share that information with anyone without your consent (I don't know if that is HIPPA or something else that restricts that). On top of that, he cannot deny medicine (especially something like this) because of your recreational use, only can say "well, this medicine may cause a problem if you are a blow user). I can't think of many medicines that actually have any reaction to THC (though I'm not a dr.) Advice, get a new doctor as it is and possibly look into the legal implications of what he's done. Or your full of it.

| I did not think they were allowed to drug test you without your permission. But you can't say much because then it would become more public knowledge. Get yourself another Doctor. I'd check the laws in your state, but in my neck of the woods you could sue...and I'd make it very plain to him/her, if theyt released that ifo that you would sue. |

With your medical problems, you definetly should be 100% open and honest with any doctor. That being said, however; if you aren't happy with one doctor, get another. Simple. You can't have it both ways. The doctors need to protect themselves and provide the best care for you that they can. They can't do that if you aren't forthcoming about your medical history. Someone with problems as serious as yours, should know that.
