First all, I have been applying for jobs since my Graduation day. Seriously looking now and have it narrowed down.

For one job that accepted me, I had to test at Quest Diagnostics It was super easy. They did not check my pockets, make myself take any clothing off and did not observe and let me behind a locked bathroom door. You will have no water access and blue s*** in the toilet. I used substitution and I passed.

Unfortunately, I decided against that job last minute for one that pays a bit more.

They are located in FL, a different state from the previous test. This is a urine pre-employment test at Labcorp.

I am aware in most cases, pre-employ is just like my example above but FL is a b**** on drug laws! I have done an extensive search on LabCorp on this site as well as on the internet and have not found the answer to my question, which is .


1) Are there any guidelines on being observed or monitored for a PRE-Employment urine drug test at LabCorp in the State of FL or any other state for other readers?

2) I have read the FL law and it says what they can do, which is give them for pre-employ, random, etc and get tax considerations for doing so. But the law said nothing about being observed.

If not mentioned, does it go by Federal Law, which is cannot observe/monitor? Or is it nation wide that unless you crash the forklift, burn the place down or get them at random they have to have reason and cannot observe/monitor in FL.

Any insight would be great. I have the test today, and I just thought about this as it was a spur of the moment hire call I received in the new hire package just this morning.

1 - I have taken urine tests at LabCorp facilities beore and was not observed. Granted, none of these were in Florida. I believe that a drug test is not observed unless specifically requested by whoever requests the test or there are certain circumstances.

2 - I don't believe there is any law in any state that requires pre-employment drug screening t be observed.
