| Well guys, 3 business days have passed since my UA and still no word. I'm considering this a good sign (I subbed). I'm still slightly worried that I'll get caught. My temp was w/in range (96), and the collector saw nothing and left no comments. So, being the paranoid head I am, I decided to try to find a forum for MROs... Boy, did I find one! Drug and Alcohol Test Q&A This post has me anxious in particular: Cortisol test to identify substituted specimen But this one makes me feel a little better: GAO Reports of vulnerabilities in drug testing Cortisol, huh? Just thought I'd pass the stuff I found along... |

Thanks for sharing. Looks like you will make it ok on your test. It is called taking care of business. I've managed to sub a few times and am subject to randoms, so I take this very seriously and try to put the odds in my favor any way I can. So far I have a perfect record over many years. If you click through the links to the GAO reports, 29 and 23 pages respectively, you will see all-too-familiar pictures of QF with heating pad, temp strip and rubberband. One collector in TX said he finds one bottle per month stashed in socks or underwear. Is he asking them to drop trou and present? I doubt it. He probably just catches the most careless and sloppy, one a month sounds about right. Very good reading for anyone who needs to keep working. ![]() ![]()

| Nice post. I believe that you have no need to be paranoid, since your temp was good and the collector left no comments. The cortisol thing is interesting indeed, but if it isn't in the (up to date) MRO handbook, I wouldn't worry about it. What worries me is an exerpt from a link you posted, "About once a month (about 1% of exams with drug testing) I will find a bottle within a donor's socks or underwear." How is a self-proclaimed "collector" gaining access to patients' socks or underwear? Is he refering to cases where the collector notices an abnormal bulge in the donor's clothing? I find it hard to believe that this guy can (legally) peruse and inspect someone's personal garments without their concent. I don't remember waiving my right to invasion of privacy upon attending a doctor's office...

| His post was regarding MRO's. MRO's can conduct the pre-employment or annual physicals. That is where they have access to the socks and other clothing. Normal collectors cannot ask donor's to remove any clothing except outer clothing (hats, coats, sweaters, hoodies, gloves, etc...) |

| After re-reading the post, I don't really follow you. Do you mean to say that the author is a MRO and not a regular collector? I believe the person is a collector because the post says "From: PA/collector in Texas." The author quoted something earlier in his text, but the exerpt I quoted was the author writing in first person about himself. Furthermore, I don't follow you on the rest either. So you say, "MRO's can conduct the pre-employment or annual physicals." How is that different from a regular doctor performing the physical? How does that give them access to your clothing? They let you change into a gown when they are out of the room, giving someone plenty of time to bury a bottle in their pile of clothing so as to not be found. I can't imagine them being allowed to inspect and search your clothing when you are out of the room. Aside from some idiots stupidly getting caught by fault of their own, I still can't think of a good reason how this happens... For good measure... the post in question, linked to in paranoid's post, is this one: GAO Reports of vulnerabilities in drug testing |

Lets try this one more time. The link was from a MRO forum. MRO's can collect urine. Regular physicians cannot collect urine without successfully passing the urine collection course. Some have and regularly perform collection duties while also giving physicials for pre-employment. The Physician is performing a physicial and during the same appointment, the donor is required to give a specimen for drug testing. While performing the physicial the donor's substitution materials are found. There is nothing that says a RN, Physician's Assistant or even a Physician cannot also be a collector.
