...worrying about the test that I took yesterday. To make a long story short, here is my situation.

8:00am
I obtained a "fresh" batch of clean urine at about 8:00am yesterday morning. I put it in a plastic container and sealed the lid. (the container didn't have an air tight seal)

9:15am
About an hour later, I poured the urine out of the container and into a non-lubricated condom after I rinsed the condom out with water. I immediately crotched the urine filled condom. I thought I would have to take my test at about noon, but I had some car issues and had to return to my home.

12:00pm
When I returned home, I removed the urine filled condom from my crotch and put it in a bowl of warm water. I opened the condom a few times between then and the test and stuck a digital thermometer in to test the temperature. During each temperature test, the temperature never dropped below 90 degrees. Note: Would exposing the sample to air (multiple times) have a negative effect on the sample?

1:30pm
The testing center is about 30 minutes away from my house, so I stopped at McDonalds and got a cup of hot water and let the urine filled condom sit in the cup until I arrived at the test center. While in the parking lot, I re-crotched the condom and went in to take the test. As I was filling out the paperwork, I noticed that my photo ID was not in my wallet so I had to return home to get it! (I was nervous as hell at this point because I was very concerned about the temperature)

2:15pm
I arrived at my house, grabbed my ID, and immediately headed out of the door. While in the car on my way to the test facility, I put fresh hot water into the cup and put the condom back in the hot water and let it sit until I arrived at the testing facility.

3:15pm
I recrotched the condom, waited a few minutes to let the piss cool, and I went in to take the test. I wasn't observed so I didn't have any problems making the transfer into the testing cup. The tester took the cup, did a temp test, and noted that the temperature was within the required temperature range. (between 90 - 100 degrees)

She said everything appeared ok, smiled, and told me good luck with the job! I felt a GREAT at this point! The fresh urine was provided by an 8 year old (he didn't know why he was pissing in a cup...LOL), so I know it's clean. However, after just reading a few posts on the forum, I am really starting to get concerned about whether or not the sample was "fresh" enough. The color seemed fine and I didn't notice anything odd when examining it in the test cup at the facility.

Am I being too paranoid, or do I have a legitimate cause for concern?

Also, I just read a post by the forum moderator, "Sec," in which she states that she has let urine samples sit on a desk at room temperature all day prior to sending it off to the lab. If this is the case, how accurate is the "8-hour" rule for storing urine at room temperature? Do the testers put the urine into a cooler or freeze it prior to sending it off to be tested? If not, wouldn't a lot of urine samples fail the "8-hour" rule, seeing as though not all are able to be tested that day?

For example: Let's assume I gave a sample at 4:00pm on Wednesday, but the courier didn't arrive to collect the sample until after 5:00pm. Assuming the testing lab didn't test 24/7, wouldn't it have to sit overnight until the lab opened the following day, Thursday?

I need this job and I am really stressing! (It's after 2:00am and I can't sleep due to anxiety)

You should be fine, I don't think theres anything to worry about, if they said everything looked good then it was

Thanks for your post. A couple of hours later (it's almost 4:00am now LOL), and I am still awake worrying about this.

Yes, she said everything "looked" fine, however, if final test results were determined by what our urine "looked" like, most of us would not sit up at night stressing...

Man this sucks!

I really hope the person who actually tests the sample won't be able to tell that the urine was 7+ hours old prior to being sealed in the plastic vial provided by the testing center. She put the entire sample in one vial (didn't split it) and said a courier would pick it up later.

Going to try to get some sleep now. If anyone has anything else to add, please feel free. I'll check this thread in the morning.

Sure, smoking is definitely a stress reliver, but the stress I've been experiencing over the past few days really isn't worth it. I know it's been said before, but they really should legalize MJ. I don't drink alcohol (not even beer), but I know alcohol is much, much, much worse than MJ. (my father died from drinking a few years ago)

Also, I don't understand why people say MJ makes you "dumb."

For example:

I was lit while in my inverview, made one hell of an impression, and was immediately offered the job.

I was lit during my first training session, and scored the highest on the pre-employment exam.

I was given multiple books to study for my licensing exam, and I was given about a month to study. Apparently, a lot of employees failed the test 2 - 3 times before finally passing. I read the book in 2 days, blazed before I went to take the test, and passed on my first attempt.

Obviously, this damn drug test is more of a barrier than the many, many joints/blunts I've smoke over the years..

in addition to sitting on a desk all day waiting for the courier to arrive, the specimen then goes to the airport where it is flown to the laboratory. It arrives at the lab the following day and is then tested. All at "room temp" or exposed to the temperature of the air in the cargo hold of the plane.

Please don't worry about something that for one, is beyond your control and two, is a non-issue.
