Default Quest "generic test" questions

I had a UA today. I have taken them before and know what a 35105N SAP 5-50 W/NIT is. My question is; on the Quest control form the only thing that was marked was THC,COC,PCP,OPI,AMP. I understand that is a 5 panel test but to what level is this tested to? I have taken 3 First Check home test (who by the way are under some heat from the FDA because of QC issues, found a FDA warning letter posted on the web) and have passed all three (1 about 30 minutes before I went in for the actual test and passed). But those test are at a 50ng/ml level. This was a non-regulated preemployment test. Does Quest do a sneaky-pete and test to a lower EMIT level (<50ng/ml)? I wouldn't think that Quest would go straight to a GC/MS right off the bat, only for a positive confirmation. I understand some test have a threshold of between 38 and 50 ng/ml or could go lower to say 20ng/ml. Does anyone know of a test that would test to a <15ng/ml level? That way I could be sure in the future!

I have searched this site and have come up with some good info but not seen anything regarding my questions.

"5-50"

5 panel, 50 ng/ml cut-off. I believe you are right with the GC/MS positive confirmation.

Vern and Thelma thanks for the replies,

SEC and 29Year,

Do you have any input on my questions?

The 35105N was not marked on the form just the THC,COC,OPI,PCP,AMP
and I know it was a UA cause I left pee at the desk, just wondering if anyone knows what kind of cutoff levels are involved with this. Again I was passing with the First Check but am a little leary if the cutoff levels are lower than that...

Can a person find a 15ng/ml test strip anywhere for home use?

Why does LabCorp test to a lower level? Aren't these test mandated by the FDA to only go to the 50ng/ml level? (Apparently not if LabCorp is at 20ng/ml). Just wondering

Thanks,

Vern is correct. You are taking a test with a 50ng/ml cutoff limit as requested by the employer. Quest can only do as requested by the employer...no more no less. The only way it will get tested at a lower cutoff to my knowledge is if your initial test came back positive and at that point it will be sent to the lab for confirmation to avoid a false positive. I am not aware of any home tests with a lower cutoff. If you find them out there please let us know. I hope this helps and I was able to answer your question. If you passed a home test I am confidant that you passed the real test.

Edit: I just read your post again and I noticed you said that your form didn't say a cuttoff limit. If it didn't tell you then I can't be for sure that it was a 50ng/ml cutoff. Maybe Sec can come and help you out with that. I'm sorry I couldn't help you. I will come back and see what Sec says though so I will know in the future. I hope all goes well for you.

Why does everyone believe they are getting the most stringent test ever invented.

Y'all are going through a standard drug test for pre-employment or random testing. Why would an employer pay huge dollars for a Lowest Detectable Level test on everyone?

They wouldn't and they don't.

Sure there are tests the have a lower threshhold, but they aren't used for most employment testing. Maybe if you are trying to be a test pilot, astronaut or something like that, they might give you a more detailed test. If you are trying to get an organ transplant, they might give you a more detailed test. But for employment, you all get the standard 50 ng/mL cutoff test for marijuana.

Stop being worried about a situation that just doesn't exist for you.

For example: I hear they stick a probe up your butt for a colonoscopy. Should I be concerned that something like that will happen during my drug test?

Answer: No.
Why?: Because that situation just doesn't apply to a standard employment drug tests and neither does a lower screening cutoff level for THC.
