I know a few of the different tests that can be used for urine testing (GCMS. DOT, Stick Test) but what is the most common for preemployment? I have been clean for two weeks and take the test tomorrow. I am 5.6 female and weigh 135. Bought an athome test and passed but was going to drink Ready Clean just in case. Do they test for diuretics? How involved will this test be? How long will it take to get the results?

I'm sure you've already had the test by now but I'll respond anyway.

In my experience with the pre-employment tests the most common would be the GC/MS. I just had to take one two days ago myself and although they charged the employer for a GC/MS they only used the litmus strips. LOL they're ripping the employers off big time!

As far as testing for diuretics they can, but usually don't unless they have a reason for suspicion.

The one I took a few days ago was the most involved of any I've ever done. They made me wash my hands, dry them off, put some kind of powder on them, put on latex gloves, take off my jacket, pat me down. Then go and do my thing and told me not to try to flush because the toilet's turned off. As soon as I enter the bathroom I can hear the nurse leaning against the door listening. I was like wtf! I felt like I was applying for the CIA not some crap job that drives you to want to smoke in the first place! Then when I come out she immediately checked the temp strip on the sample.

Even with all that I still could have gotten away with a powdered urine kit and a handwarmer shoved down my pants but I had stopped smoking a few months ago anyway because I was actually expecting a hair test!
