You said my NON-DOT 3150N SAP 5-50 W/NIT is an ordinary every drug test....my question is: this "everyday, ordinary drug test", is it an EMIT test???? I heard asprin helps with this??? But if its that GC/MS test, I heard that is more decisive and specific and asprin doesn't do anything?? Also, with this test im taking at Quest Diagnostics is it the 50 cut off line?? or the 15??? If you/or anyone could answer just this one last question before I go into the trenches that would be awesome. Thanks!!

I have answered this countless times before, but for you, one more time. The test will be screened using an immunoassay type of test at the lab. If the screening shows there are banned substances (in this case, THC) present, the specimen will be forwarded to the GC/MS for confirmation. The initial immunoassay screening is a qualitative type of test that indicates a "yes" or "no". It takes approximately a quantity of 50 ng/mL of THC to generate a "yes" on the immunoassay screening test. During the GC/MS confirmation test, which is a quantitative type of test, the testing procedure will detect and report the exact quantity of THC found over a lower threshhold of 15 ng/mL of urine. Aspirin won't help. That is somewhat outdated information. This is what happens during an ordinary laboratory test. Approximately (My best guess) 99.99999% of all laboratory tests are set at this cutoff level and follow this procedure for THC.

At the risk of "hijacking" paintmegreen's thread, I will answer here. An "emit" is a type of instant test. It is a screening that will show only yes or no as to whether THC is present in a given specimen. A positive specimen can take up to 5 days to clear the laboratory. Single specimen collections are very common. The employer can get a break in the pricing from a laboratory if the possibility of sending a split to another lab is not an option for the donor. There is less "handling" and "storage" for the laboratory if there is only one specimen to contend with. IF you don't get a call from an MRO by Monday evening, you are probably in the clear, however it can take up to a week for the lab to complete confirmation testing. Your specimen may have already tested negative. It only takes 24 - 48 hours to clear a laboratory for a negative specimen.
