| I have a second interview for a job soon. I have read the forums, and all the advice is great. My problem is I have no information on what type of test it will be, or when? Does anyone know how to find out? I have looked everywhere, and asked everyone I can, but nobody knows? I have been smoking for a couple of months fairly heavily, clean for 8 days by the time second interview rolls around. Help please!! What is normal? After I have completed my two weeks notice at my current job, or before? Will they set an appointment for me, or will I be given a date range by which I must complete it? Is it true that you only get watched while giving your sample if it is a prison or probation test vs. a test for a job? Generalities are what I am looking for, as obviously everyones situation is different. Thanks |

| The drug test comes after the offer of employment for most government entities. You should have asked for a employee policy handbook during your first interview. Be sure to ask for a copy during your second interview. You are also interviewing them to determine if they are the employer you really want to work for, and the handbook will help you make that decision. There is no normal method of testing notification. It is just what ever the employer has arranged with the collection facility. The collection facility may accept "walk-ins", in which case you would probably have to go immediately after the job offer, or the colleciton may require appointments, in which case you would have a few days to prepare. Observations are reserved for certain circumstances. Read my posts for this past week for the reasons for observations and monitoring. |
