First off, I screwed up. That out of the way, I was called for a random at work. No problem, I had some QF in the car. So on the way to the lab, I stopped at McD's, got a lagre coffee to heat the stuff, and off to the lab I went. Everything was going great (temp) till I got paranoid about the smell of my sample. It didn't smell like pee. So I peed in the cup, dumped it out and poured the QF in. There was only the little bit of residual pee in the cup, and about 3 oz. of QF. Well, I failed !! A tiny, minute amount of my hot pee 'turned' about 3 oz. of QF hot. I guess my pee is radioactive. Now I'm shitting bricks. This is a big time job I'm about to lose if I can't get it together. I have 25 days to clean up. I quit smoking and am reading all I can about cleaning up. I'm 5' 10, 195. Pretty good metablism. I've been smoking forever, about an oz. every 45 days. So, the moral of the story is: If you're going to sub, SUB !! DON'T GET HOT PEE ANYWHERE NEAR A CLEAN SAMPLE. One last thing. Fuck, I'm an Idiot !!!!!

yea those synthetics need to be used alone..if you even put a drop of anything in it....you will fail. Just for further info...its illegal for a lab to test or even smell the odor of your urine.

DiverDown, Sorry to hear that man......

I know how you feel because I lost out on an opportunity once becauase of a piss test, but try not to be so hard on yourself.

Just remember that there is always something on the horizon and the talents and abilities you have made this job available to you, so you will always have the opportunity to land the same type job in the industry you have chosen....just not with this particular company.

Keep your eyes & ears open & be prepared for the next time the opportunity presents itself

Where is it written about the legality of testing the smell of urine?

It isn't illegal to smell urine, as a matter of fact, any unuaual odor must reported and a second specimen recollected, observed.

It isn't illegal for a lab to test urine. True, there isn't a "odor sniffer" at a lab, but that doesn't prevent a lab from testing urine.

Please let me know where you are getting your information.

Thanks Prong. I haven't lost the job, yet. I am suspended for thirty days. I have to re-test in twenty five. I need to be clean then or all is lost, so I'm still in the game. I quit burning and will be testing myself and practicing the dilution method in the meantime. I'm hoping that twenty five days without burning and dilution will do the trick for me. I'll post on how I do. For now, I'm stressing pretty heavy. Sure could go for a fatty. But that's not an option, now. I'm going to miss my green friend.
