Hey guys,

As of 3/16/08 I was a heavy smoker (several times per day). That same day, in anticipation of a drug test about a month from then (~4/16/2008), I abruptly stopped smoking completely (honestly). I haven't been around second-hand smoke and have not had ANY weed whatsoever. I weigh about 190 lbs. am about 5'9, have an average metabolism, I guess. I donated blood the other day thinking that it would help (I read something that said it helps to purify your system) and don't anticipate the urine test for at least 3 weeks from TODAY. I have been exercising a moderate amount and I would assume the threshold for my test is about 0.20 ng/ml because it is a medical-type job. Is there anything I should be doing for the next three weeks? I smoked a heavy amount and then stopped and left myself 30 days to detox. I read anywhere from 7-30 days for heavy smokers, 7-60 days and even up to 90 days which is when I got somewhat nervous. If I really don't smoke for the next three weeks and continue to exercise a few times a week, will I be below that threshold? I WOULD NOT feel comfortable substituting or diluting. Is there anything I should be from GNC or Vitamin Shoppe that could help me? Comments are appreciated.

The only thing that will help is exercise and time. Quit exercising aobut 3-4 days prior to your test.

Get some home tests so you can see if you are able to pass before you take the employment test.

Just because it is for a hospital or medical facility, doesn't mean they test at lower levels. You are probably having the same standard test everyone else has.

After just 10 days of not smoking, I went to my doctor to get a urine test and he informed me that I just BARELY tested positive. His test is 0.50 ng/mL which is about the standard. He said I was most likely between 0.50 and 0.55 ng/mL. He was amazed that after being a heavy and chronic smoker that after just ten days I would be barely positive. I am worried though, despite your comment, that my job might have a more rigid threshold.

i found that drinking coffee or tea every morning for at least 2 weeks or drink a cup of water every few hours during the day for 1 week at least could get it too.
i wonder if chocolate milk helps??? ^_^

I would assume that to be quite possible because coffee is a diuretic so it makes you piss a lot more. Will consider that as well. Anything from GNC that I should buy?

I have found that coffee has been quite the helper in my days staying clean. I've been clean since February 23rd and I have my drug test this week for my job. Before that I smoked everyday at least a bowl or two. Since I stopped, I increased my exercise, doing much more sweating, and following Sticky's dilution guidelines. I have a quick metabolism so I burn fat much more quickly. I bought an at home drug test and used it two weeks into my sobriety and passed. Exercise is definitely your best friend in cleaning your system.

can't even believe you're worried about a 3 week interval... i smoked with 3 other kids on a 2 g blunt last week and am thinkin of finishing with a .2-3 clip tonight with a test next week not really worried.
went into pti today and my lady was off and some guy took care of me today and told me i didnt have to test today i was pretty happy. he said she's off next week though hahah so im a lil tempted now dunno if hes gonna test me or not i kinda doubt it tho he seemed kinda chill i talked him up a bit today tried to seem pretty normal and confident. anyway i think im rambling i cant tell, sorry... good luck i wouldnt worry a fucking thing if i were you though just stop smoking asap dont do what i did and wait til the night before to stop then drink a clense that might not even have worked.
