I'm being considered from a government job in weapons research and development, a consideration I received through a family member in the business (which makes it a BIG deal).

I have smoked a joint or 1-2 bowls every day pretty regularly the last few months (although I was clean almost the entirety of spring break) and I've only smoked two joints since then. I'm about 180 lbs and pretty sedentary.

Right now I'm flushing my system with water, and I don't anticipate a drug test before the middle of May, but I really don't know what these guys are gonna throw at me.

If I drink water *constantly* between now and the time that I have to do a drug test, is there a good chance I'll test clean? I'd rather do dilution than substitution since it's a government agency and they might be stringent. (Though I'm a writer and don't work directly with weapons of mass destruction, so it might not be that bad.)

You have plenty of time. Start off by studying these boards. Then start exercising, eating HIGH fiber and LOW fat foods, staying hydrated, take metamucil and buy yourself some home test strips to use later from ebay. After studying the boards will know the why's of the things I mentioned plus LOTS AND LOTS more.

BTW....loading up on water prior to testing is useless...just drink enough to stay hydrated.

So I officially have an interview next week, which is really great news; if I get the position, I'll soon have a well-paying job and be on my way to saving up for a down payment on a home of my own.

On the other hand, it also means that I have a piss test coming up at an unspecified time in my near future. I'm going in for an interview in the middle of next week, but I don't graduate from college until May 11th.

The last time I smoked was two days ago (one joint) and I'm completely abstaining from now until I get the job. IF I get the job. It's not a totally sure thing, but since the interview was obtained through some pretty nepotistic practices, it's safe to say I'm *almost* a shoe-in. That same nepotism means that there's a lot of pressure on me to pass a test though. If I don't, it'll embarrass several people who helped to land me the job.

My cousin just called me to smoke the last joint of her stash (she is going on sabbatical as well for separate reasons) and I turned her down. At this point in the game I want to give myself as much abstinence time as possible.

Does anyone think they would they give me a drug test before I'm even qualified to start? I'm hoping that I'll get a drug test directly prior to hiring, which would give me about another month and a half to get clean.

PS: Thanks for the note on over-hydrating in advance, I just realized why that is absolutely useless to my cause...good thing, too, because I've had to piss like a racehorse all day from chugging water.

I'll just feel much better when it's all over...

Get some cheap home tests off the internet. You can buy in bulk and expect to pay about 2-3 dollars apiece. That way, you can test yourself periodically to see if you are testing negative or not.

This gives you a great idea of whether you will be able to pass on your own or if you need to attempt subbing or diluting.

BTW: Defense contractors take the same 50 ng/mL cutoff tests that the rest of the world takes.

So I asked my relative who has the connections that got me the interview about when I might be hired (aka tested), and he said that if they like me, they will probably hire me before I graduate. That means instead of having a few weeks to try and clean up and home test, I have a matter of days.

I consulted with my cousin (who is admittedly a bit of an outlaw--but who isn't?) and she swore up and down about subbing -- she has even used it in probation testing, which is observed. I'm taking her with me today to go pick out some fake pee from the local headshop.

In the meantime, I've been testing with hot water, a 3 oz. clean travel bottle from Walmart, and an 8 second digital thermometer. I figured out quickly that my *ahem* feminine endowments are large enough to where I can comfortably fit the bottle beneath one breast in a sports bra and keep it at a consistent temperature as well as completely hiding it, even in a more form-fitted shirt. (Thank GOD for titties!)

Here are my stats for this morning's test run. I have to keep my sample pretty warm from the get-go, because if they use the drug testing center I think they're going to use, it's about a twenty minute ride under the best of circumstances:

I had a friend that was on probation and didn't have endowments to speak of. She secreted her sub-pee in another feminine orifice. Worked everytime, except once my roommate and I made her laugh so hard on tha way to take her test that something ruptured and tha containment unit began leaking. Looked like she'd pissed herself.

Worse yet, it wasn't even her piss.

Thanks all. I went out and bought my bottle of QuickFix 4.0 today. Sounds promising. I'll continue to practice regulating the temperature until my interview and (hopefully) test, and I'll let you guys know how it all works out.

So I took one of those At Home drug tests from Walgreens and just got the result. I got a second line, but it is pretty faint. Given my preemployment test, I'm not really inclined to bet 40,000 dollars on a negative result at the labs. Especially since I took half a Lortab yesterday for intensely painful menstrual cramps.

Still, I'm going to do a dilution as a backup for my substitution in case it's an observed drug test, so it does make me feel better about the whole process that I have a feasible Plan B. Plus, I got a nifty testing cup to practice with that has the 90-100 degree marks on it, so I can time myself.

My cousin seems to think that I'm getting a little paranoid/high-tech about it, but I'm doing a piss test for a high-tech, relatively high-paying job and she does piss tests for criminal probation, so I think mine is the opinion I'm going to be trusting in this circumstance.

My motto is, "Stay smart, and don't get caught."
