ola!! ok i have the urine substitution down now and practiced using my own stored frozen urine. all is dandy but....i work EARLY in the morning and i get randomly chosen by a phone system when to get piss tested. ok my lab doesnt open till 7am. i have to be at work at 7am then i leave during work time to head to labcorp only 5min away. question: if i thawed my sample at home and held it to my body at temp, how long exactly would the urine be good for? i know about quick fix and dehydrated urine...not interested. i like my own pee thank you hehe!! thank you and be green

Hello...We have "talked" before about using our own clean urine. I have subbed twice now using my own samples. The first time my sample was only testing temp for approx 3 hours and it passed a lab test. The next time it was about 4.5 hours and still passed another lab test. Through research and asking around I have noted that the urine is good for about 8 hours at room temp....BUT....for my own peace of mind I, myself, wouldn't push it more then 6 hours.

So Far I Have About 6 60 0z Samples And Still Going Cuz Im Still Testing Them On A Regular Basis I Have A Seperate Freezer Cuz I Have Family That Can Run Into My Suprise Stash And What A Dinner Conversation That Would Be..hehe, So I Keep It Safely Away From My Original Freezer. Still Trying To Find The Ideal Bottle To Stash It Cuz Sitting On These Small 2 Oz Bottle Feels Like Youre Sitting On A Hard Boiled Egg. Wish Their Were More Flexible Bags That Didn't Leak. Any Ideas??

I don't have any problems with the 2oz bottles. What I did was find small boxes and just set the bottles in the box upright to freeze and then just forget them until I need one. Once the samples are frozen they shouldn't leak. The problem you are going to encounter when you need a sample is thawing the larger bottle just enough to pour out enough for a test and then quickly refreezing the larger bottle.

How long, exactly, do you think it takes a specimen to travel from a collection facility to a laboratory? If I collect a specimen late in the day, after the overnight courier makes his/her rounds, the specimen must sit at my facility until the next day when the courier will pick it up. It then goes to the airport, where it is overnighted to a laboratory. The lab will receive it anywhere from 8:00 am to 10:00 am the following morning. That means, the specimen has sat at room temp for at least 36 hours. And... What happens if the donor comes in late Friday afternoon to provide a specimen or we collect a test Saturday morning? There is no courier service on weekends. The laboratory won't even receive this specimen until Tuesday morning. All the time, sitting at room temp. I have never has a specimen come back as "invalid" or "rejected" due to being too old. The laboratory doesn't like it when we collect late Friday and they get an old specimen, it stinks when they open it, but that is about it. I wouldn't go more than a couple days with a specimen though, the smell will give it away to the collector. We don't deliberately sniff at the specimen, but when the odor wafts up and hits us right between the eyes, we realize this is no normal specimen. | |

I have read over and over that it's not good to leave a sample out at room temp for more then 8 hours due to the sample starts to reak...which is a "alert" for the lab. So....I can keep my sample against my body all day and not fret or worry? I also thought that is why when you give a sample that the person doing the testing puts the time on the form. I also have seen places put sample in a small fridge before sending out to the lab.
