SAP = Substance Abuse Panel.

5 = the drugs they test for - cannabis, cocaine amphetamines, opiates, and PCP.

50 = the cutoff for testing positive 50 ng/mL for marijuana metabolites.

GC/MS = Gas Chromatography/Mass Spectrometry. This is used to verify a positive assay test such as EMIT.

The 50 ng/mL cutoff is for EMIT, and 15 ng/mL is for GC/MS.

I imagine that they would give you an EMIT test first, and if it comes out positive, they would verify it with a GC/MS test.

I dunno about the 6405N. Perhaps that's a model number for tests such as procedures to follow like checking for additives.

CheebaMonkey,

Thanks for the info. My Quest Diag. test number is 10-50/300 GC/MS. Any idea what the 10 drugs are? Also, the 300?

Thanks!

Default The ten drugs

Amphetamines
Barbiturates
Benzodiazepines (Valium®)
Cocaine
Marijuana
Methadone
Methaqualone
Opiates (Codeine)
PCP
Propoxyphene (Darvon®)

I think the 300 is 300 ng/mL cutoff for opiates (perhaps Morhpine) using GC/MS. If you haven't been using any opiates, then it's not a problem for you. They also might have changed the cutoff levels for the opiates.

THANK YOU JESUS, ALLAH, BUDDAH, ad infinitum!!!! And ESPECIALLY for the person who answered what the 5 and the 10 tests mean... I've been looking for like 5 hours to try and confirm my suspicions that the "5" meant they were only testing the "big five." I'm going for a pre-employment SAP 5-50 GC/MS and I have been popping benzos like crazy lately (didn't really expect to get a job, made a cold call out of the blue today, talked to the two managers and they want me training on Saturday if the results are back!!!) I've been off weed for a year and a half, never touched coke or meth, smoked dust like twice 20 years ago, and the last time I had any opiates were a few pain pills 4 weeks ago which I can have my oral surgeon (who removed two teeth) explain with no problem!!!

Just in case I bought a box of drug test pills and a bottle of a liquid... can't be too safe, I need this f'ing job! (Boy have drug tests changed in the last 15 years since I was on smoking out during 3 years of probation.. had to make sure none of the products have any adulterants they can test for.. I used to just to to the health food store in the right section of Washington Heights, NYC and ask for a 50 of the brown bag, a 50 of the white bag, a dime of whatever other varieties they had on hand and a box of Naturally Kleen LOL)

Thanks guys!!!
