OK, here's the deal.

I'm female, 5'9", about 165 - 170 lbs.
I'm pretty sure metabolism is on the faster side.

I smoked about a half a joint a day from 2002-2007. I didn't smoke for about 2 weeks last November. Aside from 2 bowl hits in January and I think one in February, I haven't smoked ANYTHING since around Christmas last year. Nor do I have any intention of being stupid and smoking any more.

Now I haven't worked since New Year's, so I'll admit I've been doing a lot of sitting on my butt doing nothing. At the most I've walked a mile a few times a week.

I have a urine test on May 4th for a job. From what I've gathered they either use one of the 4-panel instant cups or one of the ones with a dipstick. They give you the results on the spot.

Oh, and I have NO way of substituting, and I'm completely broke so I have no money for buying anything related to detoxing, home tests, or stuff like that. Basically my life right now depends on passing this test.

Should I be as freaked out as I am right now?

You should be totally calm and confident that you can pass any test. You haven't smoked enough to be detected on a hair test, and you should be totally clean for a urine test.

OK... well, should I even bother diluting, then? I've been drinking a gallon of water a day the past few days, just in case...
(Sorry about all the questions; the last time I had to take a UA I was able to afford substitution and got away with it fine)

There is no need for you to do anything to pass, let alone drink a gallon of water a day. Drinking excessive water days prior to a test does nothing to help pass the test.

You should be clean as can be.

OK... thanks... I've just been concerned that after almost 6 years of smoking every day that it would take longer than 4 months to clear out...

...but I'll take your word for it...

UA tests are a number game. The half life of THC metabolites range from 3-13 days. With the average half life being around 8 days. But for my example we will use the absolute extreme of 13 days. We will also use 1500 ng/ml as the number of THC metabolites in your system, which is also an extreme number.

If your highest levels of THC metabolites back in December where at 1500ng/ml, at day thirteen of abstenience you would be at 750ng/ml, at day 26 you would be at 375ng/ml, at day 39 you would be at 187ng/ml, at day 52 you would be at 93ng/ml, at day 65 you would be at 47ng/ml, at day 78 you would be at 24ng/ml, at day 92 you would be at 12ng/ml, at day 105 you would be at 6ng/ml, at day 118 you would be at 3ng/ml.

So, even using extreme numbers you would of passed the 50ng/ml cut off at day 65.

Sit back and relax, you will be fine.
