question I have My Hr lady has not received anything from quest yet and I have not received a call from th MRO either. My start date is Monday the 12th. I still havnt quit my other job yet. I have 4 kids so I wanted to make sure before I did. You think I am in the clear? I just talked to the HR lady and everything else is all set. She said that she should have gotten the results back yesterday. any thoughts? I have alot to lose and more to gain taking this job I want it bad.Thanks

So that still does not answer my question. The question is how long do the take to get back. She told me that she gets the result at about 24hr. From wha I read if the test came back with THC the MRO would have called by now.

When I took my drug test they said they could call me to discuss the results if it was a failure (where I took the test that is). I would assume that if you don't hear anything from them then there is just a lag in the HR at your company getting the results. I took my drug test yesterday and heard from the HR at my company this morning so drug tests are fast. I would say you're all in the clear. Perhaps wait one more day to see if the testing company calls you, if they don't then you should be all set.

A negative drug test takes 24 hours to get through the lab. A positive test must go through confirmation at the lab before the MRo even gets the lab results. Then the MRO will call you after the lab is done confirming results.

you don't say what your smoking history is so there is no way to predict if you might pass or not.

You are definetly NOT in the clear. That doesn't mean you didn't pass either. It takes anywhere from 3-5 days to get through the lab for a confirmation.

alright so sorry to dredge up a post from the past, but i was reading sec's response to this guy... and its stressed me out. i took my drug test on friday, its now wednesday, havent heard anything back. the results are being released to my employer, so im on the edge of my seat waiting for a phone call from them, even though i will let them leave a voicemail because im scared of rejection, haha.

i already have the job pending that damn drug test, so i guess my employer won't call me to inform me i passed, because they probably assume i would pass anyway, as its a pharmaceutical company. but im a college kid.

i digress, anyway, im hoping i did not get a non-negative. i just needed to vent.

Question12, hang in there. you could call the employer with a bogus question regarding benefits, W-4, I-9, (pre-employment paperwork), orientation, etc... maybe that might give you a clue.

i think it is perfectly reasonable to call and ask if everything is good to go, and your conditional offer is no longer conditional.

what harm can it do? if you tested negative or positive, a phone call will not change the results. no one is going to retest your piss because you made a phone call.

you are entitled to ask your potential employer if they have everything they need from you, and if you can now make the official announcement to everyone about your new job.

they don't consider it a "done deal" until they get the test back, why would you?

just call and ask, but be cool about it - you don't have to ask "hey, did my drug test come back negative?"

just ask if everything is done and you are good to go on your start date, and if not, when they'll know for sure and you are no longer an "applicant" but rather an "employee"
