5ft. 7in
145 pounds
don't gain or lose weight.
normally don't smoke, last incident was middle of august 2007, 3 hits or so.

I'm on probation, . Normally i take an instant cup test which is at 50 ng I assume but the probation dept. switched this time and gave me a pee test that is sealed and sent to lab. Really freaked me out.
Is the lab test still at 50 or will it be lower?

Timeline:

April 25: took 4 maybe 5 hits off a rolled one.
May 4: started drinking more water than usual.
May 5: took home test (negative) with first urination of morning
May 6: drank a lot of water trying to keep urine moving
May 7th: TEST I got up at 6:am and peed. Drank 3 14oz glasses of water. Drank 2 more over the course of the next hour and a half. I was able to pee about 3 times before test. Then I drank 2 more glasses at the office waiting to be able to pee for the test. Afterward I was so freaked out I went and bought another test right after and tested negative.

So, we're looking at 12 days between incident and test.
What I'd like to know with any comments or thoughts or reassurances is:

Is the lab test going to be lower than the home tests I bought?
What do I say if it's a positive?
When will they get the results?
When can I quit worrying?

sounds like what's done is done, so you can quit worrying now, because it will not change a thing.

No way to know the lab c/o for sure, but a standard c/o if 50 ng. You can probably check your local department of corrections or county websites for some of that info.

please do let us know what happens. your experience can be valuable to another.

not really much u can say, if you test postive your PO is gonna know regardless...i have had PO many times and failed many county drug test...I learned my lesson, when on PROBABTION just stop...i have tried drinks, pills, and whatever else and never had good results..im much biogger than u so that may play a big roll...but regardless ur PO is not stupid, they know u cant fail from 2nd hand smoke and they know u cant fail by touching it..In your case it sounds like ur safe after passing 2-3 home test...good luck bro, please keep us posted..

The party that is paying for the test determines what the cutoff limits should be - the lab just furnishes the "test menu" for the customer to pick and choose from.

If your PO had previously been using instant-type tests with a 50 ng limit, chances are that the PO will opt for a 50 ng screen at the lab to keep costs down.

Your problem isn't going to be whether you pass or not, I'm pretty sure you will test negative. However; you drank too much water during the time frame you gave. You will be very, very lucky if you don't get a diluted negative result. I recommend you DON'T smoke anymore in case your PO has you retest for diluted result.

Can you tell me if I should be doing anything in case I'm retested or will the time difference be enough between on it's own?

I think you would have passed your first test without drinking all that fluid. It stands to reason that I think you can pass another test without drinking excessive fluids as well. Just don't use pot until after you are all said and done with probation.

1. No, probably not
2. Sorry???? Won't happen again??? (there really is nothing you CAN say).

Another thought as I continue to freak out, hoping not to hear anything from county.

Tell me if this line of reasoning is correct :
A diluted result would in my case be better than a positive, correct? A diluted result would only result in a re-test in my opinion. Now I'm coming up on 14 days and getting safer for a re-test every day.

If I'm called in for a re-test I could drink the 20 oz gatorade at least 1 1/2 hour prior and be confident of successful result............... right?
