Heavy smoker for past 3 years, been clean for 87 days straight, worked out alot and sweat. Took urine test today, drink 24 oz of water around 45-min 1hour before test no other liquids and the pee was my third piss of the day..pee came out yellow but kinda light, did i drink too much water to cause a dillute fail?

24 is not enough water to cause a dilute unless you have naturally low creatine levels. You should be fine.

okay anyone else think that it was too much water? 24 ounces within 45 minutes of the test.. Thats all I had to drink before I took the test

dude, 24 ounces is only three cups of water. you're super paranoid.

It is a bit much, but it all depends on how dehydrated or hydrated your body was prior to drinking that 24 ounces. That is equal to 48 ounces in 1-1/2 hours, or 96 ounces over 3 hours. Even if it was only 3 cups, 24 ounces is a lot for that short of time frame.

I will say that you probably were ok, simply due to the shorter time frame. Your body didn't have time to process all 24 ounces of water through the kidneys and bladder, so realistically only probalby 1/2 to 2/3 of that 24 ounces actually made it through your body prior to peeing in the cup.

For Defiant81, You will probably be ok.

For the rest of you, the general rule of thumb to make sure you will not test dilute when a person should be clean due to long term abstention, the fluid intake should be not more than 20 ounces each 1-1/2 hours prior to test time. Keep in mind, this is not the quantity recommended for those actually trying to utilize the dilution method. This quantity is for those who want to dilute enough to make sure, but should test negative anyway.

Sec/Moderator.. thank you I know i may be coming off a little paranoid but I just wanna be sure. Now I read the sticky about the whole drug testing procedure, like how they will contact you if the test comes back negative diluted or a positive. If something was wrong meaning my urine was too diluted would they have already contacted me. I took the urine test on Friday,on the sheet it stated that it would be sent via a courier to the lab. Do they work on Saturday? would they have contacted me by now if something was wrong? The test was done at Quest diagnostics. just to confirm, they do contact you first before your employer if the results were diluted negative?

You will not be contacted by an MRO for a dilute negative unless it is so diluted as to be determined to be not humanly possible to pee that much water naturally.

The labs do work weekends, but the MRO's don't. You will have to wait until at least Tuesday, to give the MRO a chance to review the test and get the results to the employer, who will then contact you if they require a re-test for dilute-negative results.

They probably won't contact you at all if the employer doesn't require re-testing for dilute-negative results.

Thank you all for your help, I'm gonna wait until wednesday and then see if anyone's called.. should be good to smoke after that. One last question, I saw a post today where somebody took a drug test and then smoked two hits the next day... would that show up on a urine test within 2 to 3 days from the day of smoking?
