So here's my deal:

I used to be a 5 times a week smoker. I stopped smoking 1 month ago. Smoked nothing until 5/7, when I had 2 hits off a J, then again on 5/10 two more hits. Nothing since.

I am 6', 200lbs, average metabolism, don't really work out (aside from yard work and stuff like that).

I must get this job. They told me today they will be scheduling an appointment "next week." I'm supposed to start on the 27th.

I plan on picking up an at home test tonight and testing first thing tomorrow morning to see where I'm at. Any advice would be helpful.

I have, looks to me like the dilution method should be my best bet. I'll be doing the at-home thing tomorrow morning. Whether or not I pass that I'll still probably do the dilution just to be sure.

Update:

So I did the at home test this morning mid stream of first void and it came back a very weak passing. The box says if there is any line next to the "THC" then it's concidered negative (pass). In my case, there was a line.... but it was very faint.

So I figure, if I passed the at home today by the skin of my teeth on first void, if I dilute 5 days to a week from now I should be just fine.

Thoughts?

I would assume you are correct. Just be careful so you don't "overdo" the dilution.

^^ Absolutely. But if I do overdo it it'll just be inconclusive which will require another test at a later date, right? Don't get me wrong, I plan on following the stickied instructions to the T.

i don't know if it will just be inconclusive - maybe sec can shed some light on this - someone here said that a neg. dilute can go to gc/ms.

that worried me, and i ordered some adulteration strips that test for creatine and s.g. so i could practice a mild dilution.

i was passing a home test on the 1st void of the day (line is not as dark as control however), and did not want to over do it and risk a negative dilute that goes to gc/ms.

buying the strips was a good idea for me, and if you have time, and this is important,you might consider it. they are about $3.00 each. i can give you the website, but don't know if that is cool to do here.

i'll test myself again today with the cup and adulterant strips before i go pee for the bladder police.

negative dilute's do not get confirmed at the lab. However; employers will either

1. accept a negative dilute as a negative test
2. require an applicant to re-test if they received a negative dilute
3. reject the applicant altogether if they received a negative dilute

I have no idea what your company policy is on negative dilute. Do you?

no, i don't know - my emp. said that a negative dilute could mean a delay in receiving results - don't know what that means (likely a retest), but i did not want to risk it going to gc/ms, and took your (Sec's) advice and i am going with the 20 oz of gatorade only.
