All whip-type vapes use plastic tubing for the whips. Bag-type vapes use plastic valves and plastic bags. I've never noted a plastic taste from any of the ones I've used. I think the VaporWarez VaporCannon gives you the most bang for your buck at only $120 delivered with bonuses. It's not glamourous, but it does the job. Some people on this site swear by the Silver Surfer. It has more visual appeal, but when you get right down to it, a vaporizer is simply a device that supplies air at a controlled temperature. If it does that well, the differences between units is primarily cosmetic. To me, it seems like the discussions of one being superior to another are over trivialities that make no practical difference.

from the point of view of a heavy user(medicinal user/ grower), the ssv is the best.
it comes down to the delivery of the hit, the consistency of the heating element, the overall durability and ease of operation.

I'd agree with Buzzby. There is absolutely no way to determine the 'best vaporizer' in any price range. You round up the quality vapes that have the features, looks, whatever, that you like/want and make your decision. If you want to know the vapes that most people are buying under $400 start browsing some threads. When you've narrowed your choices a little more feel free to ask questions. My advice-stay away from digital boxes-no matter the price. They're not necessarily accurate, display wise, and units designed to produce heat don't mix well with electronic controllers or displays. They're a breakdown waiting to happen IMO.

I recommend checking out Da Buddha, the little brother of the SSV.

Thanks for the help! Been checking out the SSV & Da Buddha, but I have question, how do you adjust the temperature? I assume they have temperatures written on them? Also, what is the best temperature to start with when you are using hemp?

Sorry for all the questions, but with this being my first one, and you can't buy them in Walmart, and it's over the internet, just want to make an informed decision. After all, been smoking for over 25 years and it is time to give up the pipe.

Once again, thanks!

Nope. They have a temperature control knob without any calibrations. You have to figure out what works best for you by trial and error. Start in the middle position and adjust up or down as needed.

Why would you be vaping hemp?

Uh, planning a trip to Jamaica, yeah that's it.

Anyways, is the shipping discreet? Just curious, don't want anyone getting the wrong idea, after all tobacco is legal.

Thanks for all the help!

I got mine from The Vapor Hut. It came in a cardboard box with a "TVH" return address. Nothing identified what was inside the box.
