Ok basically it goes like this. Im a 30 year old self employed man and have been around pot my whole life. Im prescribed vicodin for my long term back pain but its something I would VERY much like to cut back on as I just dont like how they make me feel. My brother (a pot smoker) recently brought up the idea that possibly pot might help. To be honest Ive always been curious and some of that curiosity stems for the recreational side of it all but never seriously thought about til now.

Finally curiosity has gotten the better of me and after thirty years Ive decided that Im going to give it a go. After a good bit of research I recently purchased a Vapolution. So to cut to the chase Im looking for advice/pointers on how I should go about getting high for the first time as well as pointers about the vapolution unit and vapeing in general. I thank everyone in advance for your input and look forward to hearing from you all soon.

The Vapolution will give you good service-not big hits due to the narrow bowl, but smooth. You don't have a screen so you can't load ground herb unless you put in a piece of herb first to act as a screen. Too big a piece and you'll block the air flow and it won't get completely cooked. Too small and it'll fall into the heating chamber (which is like a test tube with the heating element wrapped around it). You can always use the vape on its side, which prevents the load from dropping out of the bowl. You have to be careful - leaving the bowl inserted too long will result in it getting too hot and burning your load. There's quite a bit of info on the Vapo here on the forum, but you may have to do some digging in some threads. Here's one with a review- http://www.marijuana.com/vaporizers/...on-review.html

Hi Xanthious

Good move with the Vapolution - it's a solid unit.

As with any vaporiser, there is a learning curve. My experience with the Vapolution has taught me that you need to get a feel for how long to leave the bowl in the unit. I tend to vape at the 12 o'clock position and place the bowl in for 10 seconds before drawing.

I'll leave the bowl in between draws but take it out if I catch too much vapor and want to have a break.

Don't ever leave the bowl in the unit if you are not actively drawing or just in between draws.

The other knack with this unit is rolling up a 'plug' of weed that fits the bowl. You don't want to grind your weed with this unit. You quickly learn how much to pinch off a bud and how to roll it so that the plug is tight enough to fit in but not too tight that it blocks the air and you can't get the plug out.

Depending on how 'wet' your weed is, I find that I can insert a pretty tight plug and that as the hot air draws through it and the moisture dissipates, the plug shrinks enough to allow air to come through and for me to easily 'blow' it out when done.

And, please, keep your used 'plugs'!!! With other vaporisers, I tend to re-vape the used weed by grinding it and running it again. But with the Vapolution you can't easily re-vape the weed. But you can cook with it, or grind it and run it through a VaporGenie or Star or other portable vape.

Good luck with the Vapolution and vaporising in general.

I think if you are new to the world of weed, then wait until you have a time period with no obligations, family dealings, commitments, and you are feeling relaxed.
